Anyways, I tihnk there is a good chance IdrA was going to lose anyways. The colossi would have ripped through the broodlings. Those broodlords had minimal ground support (30 lings? dead in 5 seconds with those 6 colossi with upgrades). And IdrA was out of money. Personally I think he would have lost either way. But it would have been close.

It was pretty hilarious though lol

Huh? Did you see the replay? HuK had almost no stalkers, several sentries, some zealots and several collossi. Collossi die to both the corruptors and the broodlords, stalkers die to the broodlings (and certainly can't kill that many broodlords) while the zerglings mop up the rest. HuK even admitted in the next game IdrA had that won.

It wouldn't have been close.

Huk had over 20 stalkers left against something like 8 brood lords...

He also had numerous colossus to 1-shot broodlings to negate most of the broodlord dps.

Most of broodlord DPS is done immediately upon striking the ground. The broodlings are icing on the cake. Also HuK's stalker count was severely depleted. Not enough to handle 8 brood lords.

Man Day9 and Wheat even broke it down right after the end of the replay. Go listen to it again.

Brood lords do like a measly 8 DPS without the broodlings. That's LESS dps than a stalker does.

Day9 is not always right, like the queen energy lines from yesterday.

8 dps, which is higher than stalkers ~7 . They also have 225 hp vs 80/80 for stalkers.

Anyone know why this link is showing FXOSheth and Sixjax_CocoA in loser's bracket instead of Grubby and Tri_Master? Sheth and CocoA placed below 16th while grubby and Tri-Master were 9th-16th. Was that a mistake or there was any game that decided that?

http://s3.majorleaguegaming.com/2011-dallas-starcraft2-champ.html# (Click on losers on the left)

Grubby and trimaster are both out. Not in 9th-16th

How so? Im confused, i thought Ro6 = 5th-6th, Ro5 = 9th-16th. Both trimaster and grubby lost on Ro5 just like every other player on Loser's bracket and where those 2 players were supposed to be there is the Sheth and CocoA names where they both lost in Ro4 (17th-32th). How sheth and cocoa got bumped up to Loser's Bracket?

Grubby lost in the WB RO16. Of the 8 that advanced, 4 moved on to pool play and the other 4 got seeded 5th-8th in the championship bracket.

Grubby moved down to the last round of the open bracket LB. There the 8 lsoers from the RO16 (Grubby included) had to face whoever won their matches in that section. The winner of that game is seeded 9th-16th in the championship bracket.

Yeah thats what i thought also, however the MLG page linked on my first quote shows Sheth and CocoA on their place. So i was asking if there was any game that decided that positions shift or if it was a mistake from MLG. But it's more likely that MLG typed the wrong names there to pile up to the number of technical difficulties they are having on this event. =(

I wouldn't want to be on MLG's spot, even after all those problems on this event i still want them to suceed, having another big sc2 event is good for e-sport. =(

I think the stream stability problems were just a way to make people reload the stream and watch more ads.

Seriously -- why not just not bother casting it at all and let Day9 and Wheat cast it from their own homes from replays over skype?

So naniwa has been 4gating his way like 90% of his matches... I can understand it to an extent, however, i lost respect when he does it in the pool play as well.

Feels surreal, sort of because we never got to see any of his games

As someone who watched every one of Nani's games today, I can say with full confidence I believe he takes this whole thing. He is playing at an unreal level, and I was simply amazed by how easily he tossed quality opponents to the side. He had an unfair amount of units at times.

I actually feel really bad for MLG. Today really couldn't have gone much worse. Blame it on what you want, but it has to be regarded as an absolute disaster. I'm certain that heads will roll in the MLG board meeting next week.

I'll still support them though. This is their first event of the year and I expected it to be a little bumpy. (not this bumpy). I truly hope that they can turn it around in Columbus, for their sake. I don't want to think what a second catastrophe of this proportion would do to MLG.

As this has happened at every MLG tournament, I think it's about par for the course.
that is a lie most MLG events go pretty smooth. is a one time event so far and you guys really need to layoff mlg. what if they decide the SC2 fanbase has too many cry babies and drops the game next year?(not saying they will) would that make you happy? if you don't like it just turn it off and go for a walk winter is over.

Uhh bullshit do you remember the last MLG where everyone waited for an hour in the middle of the finals? MLG fucking blows and they need to fix their issues.

Acutally I think quite the opposite.

They'll never let it happen again. Everyone was so freaking out since they had local ISP issues and they got nearly double the volume they were expecting. They won't let it happen again. Also if they can retain the viewership after this weeked it will be great for them for sponsorship.

so the stream down affected the live crowd just as badly?

there were barely any live casted games, so yeah

Yes there was virtually no live casted games. The HuK vs Kiwi series they broke into 7:30 into the game and almost immediately the game lagged and HuK gave us another MLG gem with the "this is fucking ridiculous" quote. Its not MLGs fault though as far as I heard they are not getting the bandwidth they had requested.

edit: On a side note the stream being on replays allowed a lot of us to fully take advantage of all the other stage-like stations they had set up and observe some pretty exciting games.

For everyone saying "Omg Idra should have stopped and had Huk DQ'd!!!!". WTF.

Obviously none of you are competitors in any sense. I, for one, would not want to beat somebody on a technicality as dumb as chatting before a game. Someone like Idra is so headstrong and confident that they think they can beat anyone that they come up against, they don't need a cheap victory over something like that. I guarantee if something had been done, to either player, neither of them would have enjoyed the win. Anyone who does enjoy to compete, enjoys winning by being the better player, not by having it handed to you.

^ Agree with this guy 100%, if I lost in Idra's position and Huk taunted me, you're damn right I'd want to beat him without some crappy technicality. ;x Surprised how many people are just saying "Oh I would've paused and gotten the refs right there!"

Is this sarcasm? Every MLG event, especially the first day has been atrocious so far. Just not THIS bad.

I'm glad we got some games though and it was nice seeing day9 again!

So Haypro lost to Select, that means another 3way tie (Ret, Qxc, Haypro) in Group B?

From games won it should be: Ret - Qxc - Haypro

According to the MLG site Haypro actually lost to qxc so he's 0-4. =/

They have both TLO-Painuser and Haypro-Qxc results listed wrongly on their pool play page
It seems like everything is going wrong for them today.

They had the "correct" results up earlier though, so they actually changed them to say TLO and Haypro lost. o.O
