i give up. ima just watch replays. and look at results. this is too much. i even hear some people who went there to spectate rather stayed home. this is a disaster.

Read the OP, they plan to compensate you somewhat. Free HQ to another MLG event or possibly something else.

For those that purchased HQ passes for Dallas, we will be providing you with free passes to watch the HQ streams of our Columbus Pro Circuit Tournament on June 3-5. We will follow up with you individually with more details.

So yes while this event is a failue at least they're trying to fix things including stream quality in the future.

The reason that everything is fine when they aren't casting games live, I am sure that the Tech team over at MLG understands this, is because everyone closes their stream until and sit around in chat rooms waiting for people to say in the chat that "its back" or "such and such is now playing".

Then all of the sudden, the stream is hit with hundreds of thousands of viewers trying to start up the stream and watch the game that is getting cast.

They only have problems when they actually cast games because that is when everyone is actually watching the stream. Its smooth and fine when they aren't because there are no where near the amount of viewers watching during downtime as opposed to cast time.

Once they start to cast, the stream dies and their internet dies. Its the equivelant of a DDOS attack and they do not have the infrastructure to support the amount of viewers right now who want to watch.

They may simply have to move to a pay only system like GOMTV because they can't handle streaming for free.
