Ya seriously. Whether or not they take these games seriously is up to them, but personally if I was playing on camera against anyone, even if it's not for money, I wouldn't want to lose. Who cares if they didn't take the games seriously. They lost.

Im not flaming, but there could be the oppurtunity that the korean team lost on purpose to play mind games. and when the foreigners play in the real tournament the outcome could look different.

There is a lot of mindgames involved in tournaments. I know some people that don't say a word to anyone else at a LAN so you can't judge there character completely.

Edit: TSL is a different case lol

about what MC said during his interview in the GSL nominations VOD:

+ Show Spoiler +

MC said he lost against a foreigner in the recent TSL match??? he also later joked that MVP, MKP, and Genius got knocked out by foreigners and that they need to practice harder, but i'm pretty sure the first thing he said was referring to himself losing. is this a spoiler result for the TSL ro16???

True.
They did play seriously, when you are such a competitor (see their training houses) you WANNA win, especially when your country dominated the 1st game (I mean BW). Lag was a valid excuse cuz it really can ruin games but "they didn't play seriously" is really a poor excuse :x and it's not the case.
Btw we know what MKP was able to do, but he seems to be in a serious slump, losing everywhere (BO1 but still...), and SEn is good so it's not that much surprising, even if it's sad cuz MKP is usually awsm to watch.

Ya he mistakenly said it earlier and then realized there were no Americans on the team... but he felt it would be funny to keep saying it

Lag was a bad excuse in the first place and didn't play seriously is an even worse one. I don't even understand what that means. Were they cracking jokes to themselves in the booth? All they have to do in those booths is play, and i don't see any of the korean pros, especially the hungry ones like anypro and san playing worse just because lolol.

And why any protoss would beat him? (except imbalance but it can't be that imbalanced that the best zerg in the world lose to any protoss, isn't it?)

Those interviews were really entertaining, pretty funny too. Especially when a wild sen kept appearing.... hahahaha
I asked my friend how the ratio at a party was, he replied. "Let's just say for every guy there was two dudes."

I'm not sure if I misunderstood your post, but if you are saying that the people who constantly say Koreans are by far the best should finally stop making excuses if foreigners actually do well... that's just not going to happen. If the foreigners do well, then that will be because... uh... the Koreans didn't want to win this one. They wanted to make the foreigners feel good and they just didn't care about winning this tournament. Don't worry, rest assured someone will come up with excuses.

That all being said... I do think the Koreans are the better players, but some people think they are on a whole new level that can't be touched, and will make excuses no matter what the situation is, or how ridiculous it sounds.

Wow first it was lag, then the game being easier than BW, and now the Koreans aren't taking it seriously?

News for these guys: It's completely up to the Korean team whether or not they want to take this showmatch seriously. However, that's not an excuse when they lose. It's obvious that the foreigners prepared extensively for this trip and I know the Koreans have the skill level to give them a run for their money. I have to believe that when you're at this level of competition you won't throw televised matches, even if they're not for money, because you're "not taking it seriously."

If you mean the Koreans underestimated the foreign players, then that could certainly be a possibility. But it remains to be seen what the World team can do against (arguably) the 4 best players on the Korean team: MVP, Nestea, July, and MC.

At some point though you have to give credit to the foreigners for taking down some of the top talent in Korea. It really is impressive and I can't think of a single game so far where the winner didn't just play better hands down.

People forget that its a show match.
I was rather impressed by some games by koreans. Remember thats its BO1 so people playing strange builds shouldnt be that strange. Also fast carriers into mass stalkers was great

That was a mistranslation. He said he'd lost in a recent foreign tournament, referring to the FXOpen invitational where + Show Spoiler +
he lost to Cloud in the winner's bracket and then to Check in the loser's bracket
. The other results he mentioned were only spoilers for TSL Ro32.
