Well played Morrow!
Anyone else feel like Morrow is playing exactly like Julyzerg in this series? Feels very reminiscent of a lot of his GSL games. Not sure Jinro should have gone for the CC first build again, it was directly countered by the baneling bust in the first game. So sad to see Jinro go he's my favourite terran.
Anyway, great games, thankyou TeamLiquid!

TL crashing every like 10 seconds. So many people o.0

Yuck. Just like Jinros bunker rush vs Idra in GSL? Vengance for the swarm!!! MorroW HWAITING!! I'm not bitter over Jinro's loss, but that bunker rush isn't even comparable. It was to apply pressure not kill him. Remember how he had that refinery going up when Idra gg'd? not comparable in the sense that whilst they both win u the game, the bust requires a significant cut to econ?
The majority of 2 rax bunker rushes at this level are NOT intended to win the game, only apply pressure.

i have morrow in my top4 :p

I've lost my respect to Morrow after those games. He will end up like JulyZerg. He may have cheesed his way to later stages of the tournament but eventually he will meet someone who is gonna punish him hard.
|
You're right, everyone. When Jinro 14 cc'd, MorroW should have sat back and done nothing. That was clearly the correct counter, instead of using aggression to push back against Jinro's econ-heavy openings. If your opponent is better than you, as is the case of Jinro being better than MorroW, you have to do something that makes your opponent step outside his comfort zone. You have to make him step sideways and adapt to you, instead of letting him set up his gameplan and roll over you. If you wanted to win a game against a superior opponent, you would have done the same thing. It's strategy 101.

Fair play to Morrow for using strats that play off his opponent and are obviously successful. But I'm still left feeling very disappointed with those games.

Should pretty much explain why the comments are so biased towards Jinro.

Morrow vs Jinro was basically July vs MVP lols. gg wp
Excited to see that White-Ra won, and of course MC smashed through. Looking forward to more great games, and good job to everyone involved!

boring third game but grats to morrow for punishing that greedy build with that abusive bust. gl in next games.

I don't think people who are saying Morrow can't macro have actually watched Morrow's games - when he macros he is (ironically) almost as consistent as IdrA but with much better creep spread and map vision. Morrow just chooses to play for the specific matchup what he thinks can/will win.

And wow, there is some big crashes going on.

Nah Jinro messed this up. No excuse not to be better prepared to for a baneling bust after he lost game 1 the way he did. He literally changed nothing except add a super late bunker that didn't do anything. IMO should have built bunkers earlier and more than 1. You can sell them back so I don't know why he didn't. Prevents you from huge loss.

Grats to morrow! A bit disapointed it was with 2 baneling busts, i would've loved more macro games, but he responded excellent to what Jinro did and it was by no means an All-in!!
And dont worry Jinro, you'll win the next GSL season!

Read Thorzain's interview on how he says that build is completly vulnerable, and it's pretty much auto-win for the zerg. Try to do it against an experienced player that knows terran inside and out and he's gonna roll over you.
There is no way you can recover from that point, lifting is indeed the best option so you don't lose production. Props to Morrow for doing the right thing, this reaction should be as normal as bunkering/wall after seeing a 6pool
Which interview is this?? WTB

Everyone's bracket just imploded. Both HuK and Jinro, just...gone.
|
Yeah, I really can't understand all this whining. Were you whining as well when Terrans came up with the double rax build to punish hatch first? Did you complain about Jinro doing that in game 2? No? Well then take off your reality distortion glasses and just accept that Jinro got over-greedy.

Those games were exciting as hell, and I was indeed surprised that MorroW was able to pull out a win against Jinro, who I had predicted would win the whole tournament. Great games, can't wait till next week!
This. QFT!
Jinro loses - People say he is not playing at his level. What f***** level is that in your opinion. Your team is hosting the most competitive tournament in the history of SC2 worth 15K $. There is no level to play at. He was playing at his best and was beaten by a player who just outplayed him over the course of 3 games.
Mechanically and technically, Jinro might be the better player. But in those three games, Morrow out-thought Jinro and deserved to win. Does not matter what tactics or strategy you use, ultimately Morrow is in the RO32 and Jinro is not and that is all that matters in the end.
