This was my first time watching Kelly cast...and she did very good. Her accent didn't bother me much at all; yeah it could be better but its not nearly as bad as half the youtube casters out there. It was clear that she actually did some prep work, and as a result brought a lot of great insider knowledge and analysis. Tasteless, as usual, came across as a frat guy that just rolled out of bed. In fact I would go so far that Kelly's analysis was better than Tasteless'. (Which is not saying much, but still surprising) She's no Day9, iNcontrol, or Artosis, however I think GOM made a good choice with her.
Watching Haypro's games was almost physically painful. I don't know why Huk hyped up GanZi so much, he made sooo many mistakes. The first game especially. GanZi basically gave Haypro like 4 medivacs full of marines for free along with 8-9 free tanks...and yet Haypro still managed to lose quite handily. As for the second game on Terminus...well after seeing Jinro vs. Idra on the same map yesterday it's clear that neither of them are anywhere near code S material.
I gotta say though, I love the new maps. I think maybe terminus is still a bit too big, because you can really alt-tab out the first 10 minutes of the game without missing much. That last ZvZ on Crossfire was awesome though; there was a lot of very cool positional play there.
Edit: Err terminus, not crevasse

Came in late for work because i really wanted to see Haypros games and i gotta say it sucks he cant seem to catch a break.
imo he has alot more skill and potential then getting knocked out in round one of code A.
Im thinking korea isnt the place to be (atleast tourny wise) atm in sc2 if you're not already code S. Cosidering thers so many foreign tournaments going on all the time you dont have that huge downtime you have in korea if you lose a single bo3

Yeah i feel bad for him, it's hard for him to prove himself when he keeps running into some of the best players possible every time.

July who's not better then Mvp July is a "lesser player" than mvp? Kill me now. Not sure if serious lol. July is only more accomplished in bw. Even towards the end of his bw days he wasn't in tip top shape. Mvp would have been considered more skilled than July at the end of their bw career. In sc2...well, it's not really even close.
Exactly, I don't know how anyone in their right minds can say that July is the better player after beating MVP the way that he did.

I like Kelly as a commentator. Would like to see her casting with Artosis aswell. Unfortunately hes sicktosis atm.

LOL WUT!?!?!?!!? u crayzee, boi. *ahem* So yea... The Archon name should totally be TasteKelly. Sucks that Kelly is on tomorrow, I much prefer the Tastosis combo. They have good casting chemistry. =) I am a bit sad about today, tbh. I only correctly guessed the winner from the final set. I figured it to be Moon/Haypro/Ace/Leenock. Still, in their entirety, I did like the matches today but I'm still waiting for mega-epicness like from the GSTL, though. Same here, and I thought for a while I was going to get them all wrong. I should stop going with my heart.
I am liking the impact of the new maps already.
I dont think it will emulate the team league though because in code S and code A they can practice for who they are going to face but in the team league they dont know who they will play so need to prepare in a different way which makes for more interesting play and unexpected all-kills.

Did anyone get a ss of Kelly after tasteless made an offhand comment about how he was looking forward to casting with Artosis tomorrow?
She crossed her arms and kinda shrunk for a few.

Haypro is better off going home I think. He doesn't seem to be good enough for korea and for the subtop there is much more money outside korea anyways.

Nice macro, nice reaction times, chose his engagements carefully. Ganzi though, played a QXC-esque agressive style, dropping marines everywhere, forcing Haypro out of position, and out-multitasking him. This led to Hayder losing many many expos and being starved to death. No shame on Haypro, he just lost to a superior opponent. How can you say he had nice reaction times when he lost 4 or 5 hatches without cancelling?
That's the "out-multitasked" part. The hatches dying had nothing to do with reaction time whatsoever.
Yes he mostly had good reaction times, as he negated most drops Ganzi threw at him, what requires good reactions and mini-map awareness. He did that while keeping decent macro too.
I guess this ate most of his APM though, as he was often out of position, he let hatcheries die, etc... He just couldn't be everywhere at hte same time, though I would bet my life he was aware of all that was happening.

Oh Hayder, I wish the result was better, ugh. I'll leave it at that. The guy has such an uphill battle to climb. -_-

American beer, let alone bud light. I rather drink Saki instead D:

When do the VODs get uploaded to gom site? I can't see them there yet qq.

Well, apart from reaction time, you could say it might have been a little deficiency of decision making on his part. Like, instead of seeing the attack on his expos and saying "ok, I can't defend that, I have to cancel" he kinda just... let them die. And it wasn't him rushing to their defense and only just missing out on defending them, they just straight up died.
Haypro's macro also slipped quite a bit during the games. He was quite high on money (I think I remember him being at around 3k minerals at one point and not maxed on Terminus) at times. Haypro definitely showed that he has potential, maybe his style or technique is weak against Ganzi's heavy aggression and drop play or he had a bad day, but that's kinda what you have to do in tournaments to progress to the end of them: be solid and consistent.

I felt that Haypro is too passive against Ganzi. In 2nd game, i think the outcome would be different if Haypro sit his 30 mutas in Ganzi base, but Haypro decides to call back his mutas.

It looks like there was no moderation this time around. So much balance garbage being posted despite there being a FUCKING WHITE SIGN ON THE TOP SAYING NO BALANCE WHINING.
Seriously, is this the fucking place for it? It's a LR thread. If I want to avoid random zerg qq I stay away from the strategy forum. And about the Kelly thing. She's awful IMO. But guess what, I don't need to say that in every LR thread I visit.
Why? The LR thread is for REPORTING THE FUCKING GAME. I swear, I need to read 5 full pages of people shitting on Terran and complaining about the casting before I get a minute of actual game content.
Thank you and kudos to people who actually described the game and a big fuck you to everyone who decided to talk about balance.

Agreed. It is hard to sift through the posts to find out what is happening in the games, especially the Coca V Ace games. Everyone was so busy talking about Haypro (and who can blame you) that we missed most of the first game between Coca and Ace. I had no idea a game was even going on then.

I am still shocked that Sam likes bud light, out of all the great beers he can get in Korea...

1st game: CoCa did basically a good job in looking for conffrontation with the protoss army, also OL-dropping roaches here and there a few times.
After a few trade offs, the colossi count was diminished, and 4th protoss base denied, Coca overwhelmed with his upgraded roach/hydra army.
2nd game: early expo from protoss, very good reaction from zerg into hydra aggression into third base and corruptors. Then always denying protoss' third base and also killing off the collossi from time to time. Not cost-efficient trade-offs of armies but nevertheless nicely remaxing of units afterwards.
A very good example on how ZvP should be played imo, today's best games i think.

He is easily good enough to make it to the up & down matches for Code S, he's just really unlucky and even if he played very well his series, this GanZi guy is SICK good, absolutely no shame losing to him, cause he's gonna win Code A tournament. You read it here first.
