The Prize money of the final will be divided between the top 3 players.
How exactly the money will be divided is still in discussion. But you can be sure the winner gets a mayor part of the cake.
The reason for changing the system was, that many people knew we exist but still we didn't reach our expectations. Therefore we decided on changing the system and increasing the long term competition within our cup series aswell as the attention which causes winning a cup of ours.
We are aware of the problem with our German website. We are working on a proper solution for that problem already a while. Of course we have to ensure that, when we make an official translation, it has to join some changes in our overal website structure. That's why it takes some time.
Until then we offer English support within IRC, the tutorials in English and, which might be quite useful aswell, the google translation of the website.

^ If you talk about how well your known internationally is, I dont think that is related to the prize destribution.
The tournament was simply not advertised enough on any english speaking sites. And the german web site didnt help I guess. There was one thread on TL, but people tend to overlook that. It needs to be on the TL calendar.
And most importantly, there was no english streamer (at least that I know of).
Your old prize money distribution was great imo, at least for the players.
And I always enjoyed the 4PL cups. Although it is not that well known, there were many great players in it.
On the other hand a monthly final could indeed make the cup even more exciting. And I guess a ranking system also means that you will do a seeding for your weekly cups. That would be a big improvement as well.

Yep you are right. We try to improve that aswell.
Currently I'm in charge of advertising in English. I know we have to be more present on other sites and I will ensure in the next months that this will be improved alot.
When it comes to an English caster, we will also check the possibilities we have.
Our goal is to be known as the 2nd force in SC2 E-sports. So far: Our prize mone is already top but our marketing and structure needs some imrpovements: That's what we are on !

I also liked the old distribution more as it is simply more fair for the players. Imo the monthly final at the ESL sucks for that reason because in a final that ends 3-2 the winner takes it all whereas the second place (in a usually tough grid) is left with nothing. So the 4pl was much more advanced here. I think the problems lie somewhere else. First a lot of players do complain about the low pace in which the tournament progresses, second there was usually just a german caster with a presumably exclusive license (mostly HomerJ) so its clear that it is not exactly aspiring to follow the tourney for an international audience.

Yes but I do not like the tendency that we can witness right now (same with Craft cup) to lower the money in the weekly cups and then make a big monthly as te numbers of players that get rewarded is way lower.

in my opinion the poblem is not the system, irs te website. Most likely i wanna see a cupwebsite like the on of craft cup which is so easy and also very easy for coverage

I totally see your point there. That is why we still keep the 100€ prize money at CCC, add 25€ to Community Cup and also progress with the TA Cup as it was.
Anyway: The 1000€ of the final will be split up over the first three places. Otherwise it won't make sense to have a match for 3rd place because no one wants to play it when there is no prize for it.
This changed structure gives us also more possibilities for marketing strategies. A campaign in English introducing the final cup will give us a lot of attention.
Seriously: A player telling someone that he won a 4PL CCC didn't mean a lot in the past months. Of course this is also due to our rather small attention when it comes to international advertisement and casting. But also because of the high frequency of cups. The more cups we offered the less a single cup victory was worth. This is what we want to change in the future. 4PL Cups shall stay for everyone but we also want to gain some kind of exclusiveness - at least for the final cup.

The website is something we are constantly working on. There will be changes in the future - I can tell you that one. ^^

Besides: When the majority of players tells us that they dislike the new structure and that they would prefer the old one we will seriously discuss this topic.
We are open to comments and advices from the community - we even wish you to discuss this and clarify the pros and cons of it.

How about overhauling the map pool and add some Iccup/GSL ones? I think this area also needs some improvement. Maybe you should discuss this with some selected Pros.
The money split for the finals looks nice btw.

I think 4PL has quite a good mappool..
Steppes of War is removed, maps like blistering sands, lost temple , delta quadrant
are in the first few rounds if they are in pool and in the later rounds there
are balanced maps like meta , xelnaga played twice ..
Think this is pretty good, because no one wants to play on an unbalanced map
like Steppes of WAr or Lost temple in the later stages of a cup..
Btw i think 128 Grid for Tuesday is a little too less

But in fact: When someone wants to post his opinion we will be glad about it. You can be sure, that we will read every single comment and discuss which maps are the best for balancing.

No way, the PTR maps all have the same problem as Meta/LT in close position (+ a bunch of awkward naturals) and should never be played in tournaments. If we start to use new shitty maps (that players have to learn, even though they suck) we might as well keep the old shitty ones.
btw, as far as I can see all the imba maps that nobody likes (Delta, Blistering, Steppes and Jungle Basin) are all still in the map pool? If so, thats pretty disappointing. If you don't want to add new maps, please at least remove these imba maps.

Next week we will present our new map pool. Inspired and created by the community. Hope everyone will be happy and cheering.

Keep in mind that ESL will announce their new map pool next week. Right now they have 7 maps in the pool (this map pool) and they will add two more. Just saying because of unity of the map pools in the EU scene

well - i was asked by many people to do the english casting (not everybody is that fluent in french or german) - so i got in contact with the admin. even tho it was on short notice i got told that i only will be allowed to cast the games in which khaldor (german cast) is NOT in - meaning i would not be allowed to cast the finals - so i decided not to cast at all

Khaldor is actually decent at casting in English as well. His German casting is of course awesome as most people learned by watching the Assembly stream.

Nerchio lost the first game and said something like "I hope blizzard fixes this race" before leaving without gg. When it comes to English casting we are normally open for other caster when we don't offer one ourselves - what normally don't ^^ The reason for this is that we tried some but in terms of quality we didn't get one with whom we would like to go on working also in the future.
Our goal is to have a fixed 4PL Caster in English asap we offer our English website which will be really soon ^^ So generally: I cannot tell who is going to become our caster and who not but if someone is interested and offers a high reach: We will start negotiating.
When it comes to the cup: There have been endless great stories happenening within our cup. Problem is that without an English caster you don't get it yet ^^ But I'm so excited when it comes to future cups and, of course more than anything else: The Monthly Final which will be legen.... wait for it...

well, so about 90 minutes after i had the talk with the admin telling me i wont be allowed to cast the games where the german caster is present - he got back to me and told me, that it would be okay - so i casted the semis + finals ( at least something ) - so in the end everybody came to his sense - *thumbs up

btw. There were some misunderstandings when it came to your casting. Khaldor has exclusive rights - when it comes to casting in German. Casting in other languages is fine but he is the only German caster allowed in our matches

In the first few rounds of a weekly tournament there are some "lower" players. But I like it and it's your chance to play against some pro players! In the later rounds there will be of course more high class games.

With the new maps it will be more difficult for Sjow though as multitasking and macro are getting more important so It`ll be interesting if he will be as dominant in online cups as he used to be.

This has been the day of incredibly awesome dual casts, first HD and PainUser, then Husky and Day9 and now TotalBiscuit and Khaldor. I'm especially surprised how well TB is doing in this dual cast situation (I'm a fan of his stuff but haven't witnessed him in this kind of situation before) with the non-native speaker Khaldor, this is awesome. Been laughing way harder than usual during SC2 casts with these two fellows.
Keep it up! Also, Insolence fighting!

you acknowledged yourself in an earlier game that u called gg way too early. That drop right now surely did damage, but if you would have experience playing as zerg you maybe would realize that the food count alone is not a valid criteria for predicting who is winning/losing all the time.
