Maka played like shit, he doesn't deserve to qualify, I don't see any problem here. Fruitdealer plays bad since season 3 (included). Every side tournament since 2 months he lose to everyone, he's just not as good as he used to be. Having safety nets doesn't mean that big names will qualify. Yeah, I though maka and fruit would qualify, but after seing them play, it's just logical they didn't qualify. If maka keeps playing like yesterday, he'll be in code A soon.

No, that sounds like a tournament where there are upsets. Safety nets are what are in place for the Code S players who do go out early when they play in the Promotion matches, it is harder to get promoted from Code A than it is to stay in Code S.

I sort of had a gut feeling that Fruitdealer wouldn't go on to the Ro16. Watching him do sort of poorly in the Gisado games made me feel he sort of has lost his touch a bit. Oh well, I'm pretty sure he'll be back next season.

They are still in Code S at the moment. Maka as a 4th place finisher has 1 chance to stay Code S while FD as a 3rd place finisher has 2 chances to stay Code S. If they are really good enough to be Code S, they will stay in Code S.

Idd and it's a Bo3 in the up and down matches. So FD has to lose 2 BO3's and Maka only 1 to get demoted. Chances for FD are high that he's going to stay in Code S but doubtfull of Maka (but hoping though).

Like does Fruitdealer play a Bo3 against someone and only needs to win 1 set to advance(1-0 or 1-1)? Or is it a Bo1 against multiple people where Fruit needs to win 1 game in a Bo1 against 2 diff people? Same for maka, only he has to win 2 in a Bo3 or 2 Bo1's in a row. edit: nvm was just answered in the post above :

If this was the preseason they would have been eliminated at the qualifiers instead. This way even though FD played subpar he still has a great chance to secure his class S spot and with it automatic invites to comming tournaments. I believe that's what he meant be safety net. It doesn't mean you can play bad and still make it to the next round, but you can play bad and still get a chance next time. A safety net doesn't keep you from falling in the first place.

It's not being streamed on gomtv.net and since gisado is now a Gomtv event I don't think I can link a restream. The quality of games isn't good currently, but it's interesting to see new maps.

That's what happens when you lose games you are expected to win. This group was gonna be a toss up between mvp, zenio and fruitdealer. Today fruitdealer got eliminated.
