Have Idra downvote 2 maps and qxc none, add a little bit of entertainment. He picked Blistering Sands & Jungle Basin in a best of 5 vs a Terran, then got close positions on Metal. Considering the Zerg Vs Terran results during GSL on those maps, he definitely gave Qxc a good shot to take the series. It is interesting to see Idra deploy his anti-2 rax on Blistering. Also interesting to see how he played Blistering different than against MVP. Idra's gotten a lot better build/kill strategy for that map. Also nice to see Idra not just trying to rush to a 3rd there as well. Effectively, it was a nice timing push. Which is always nice to see from the macro-gracken.

I remember blistering and scrap, not jungle, two zerg favoured maps so far. But anyway even playing in terran quadrant or lost temple Idra's level is enough higher to beat qxc 3 times in a row so u're right

I'd also like to give a big shoutout to the U.S. gov. for allowing Day9 and DjWheat to cast the games live from the ISS, must have been a real pain getting those 5 studio-addons up there. A couple of those studios were in space. Which is why they took some breaks in between, to fly them back and forth.

For a 'small' tournament like that, the production value was through the roof! You even put some of the big high class tournaments to shame. :p The overlays had a really high quality (I don't remember if it was MLG, but one of the bigger tournaments had reaaaally cheap overlays) and the early game splitscreen was pretty cool too. Why don't you use the free space for a picture of the players and some random facts about them? (like his placement in recent tournaments, since when they've been pro, if they played broodwar or the playstyle/moves they're famous for. IdrA is known as macro machine while QXC is a super aggressive drop player..etc.) The dark globe set looked really good too, but maybe you should adjust the lighting a bit. The set was really dark while Day&Wheat were very bright and 'popped out' making it less convincing. Some of the other sets had a better light balance, but suffered from bad textures, which made them look really cheap. You had screens with EG logos in the back..why don't you use them to display some useful stuff? Like the players in the current/next match or results of recent matches that were not covered on the stream. Either way I can't wait for the next EG Masters or when other tournaments finally step up their game and put the same effort into their work. For a small crew like yours, you did a really awesome job! =) Only disappointment was the lack of a Day9 Coaching Daily Special. :/

That being said... I really do wish we had more balanced maps =\

We got new switching gear just days before the event, so I was scrambling to just figure out some of the basic stuff and did not want to bite off too much for this event. We will be able to do all sorts of cool things with this gear, so some of your suggestions (more info on the splitscreen shot, tweaked studio sets, etc) will all be in the works for 2011. Thanks again for the support TL'ers! Have a safe and happy holiday! You did an amazing job, cant wait for what you guys have coming for us in the future. ![]()

That was really nice little thing to do. Wish Gom would do that, it's pretty useful for the first 60s of the game.

(But since we're on TL where nitpicking is the norm.... two tiny comments: I think sticking with one studio background is best, and sometimes it was zoomed out too much (two tiny casters drowning in a huge background).
