Wait, so.... ret is S class now? I'm looking at the summary that states he advances, but the match results show he beat one guy in his group?

Ret is A class now. People talking about S Class is talking about the group compositions. On that note, I was a little disappointed to see Idra and Jinro in the same group as well, but also I'm pretty confident it could be two of them that advance from that group. But, as for group F, I was quite a bit disappointed because they decided to put 3 oGs guys together in the same group, as well as 3 protoss players, when there are groups that has no protoss at all.

For the record, they didn't "decide" any of this. There was a drawing. After the first season, there will be seeds, but this was the most fair way to do it this time...even if it lead to some unfortunate groups.

I am suprised they didn't draw similar to the way they do in the World Cup. Where they don't allow more than one team from each region to be placed in a group together. (except for Europe where no more than 2 teams pre group) So that each region has a better chance of getting past the group stage. I realize Jinro is European, and Idra is North American, but due to the lack of foreigners at this time it would be nice to lump them into the same category.

That said they both still have a chance to advance, and being in seperate groups may not help them, however it would be a real shame if more foreigners make it into Code S and 3 or more foriegners get placed in the same group.
Y'know sometimes people ask me y'know like "What's your religion and stuff?" And I'm like "y' know it's like RTS." Uh, and they're like, "What's that?" And I'm like, "Y'know it's kinda like, kinda like Buddism."

I think he was just off for these particular Code A matches, I'm pretty sure he's better than what he's shown here today. Well, I hope so, anyway (will find out soon enough)

Anyway, looking at the groups, Group H is pretty damn scary. Ensnare, Check, Idra, Jinro, all these players are very good, close in skill level, unlike most of the other groups where there are top level players mixed in with much weaker ones.

I predict Idra advancing (taking a game off Check and one Terran), and maybe Ensnare? I like Check and Jinro too though, so if they end up fighting for their S-code I really hope they don't end up fighting a code A I care about, like Ret (Jinro v Ret fighting for S would be awful, lol)

I cannot make myself read 80 pages of this so can anyone please tell me why did ret lose 3 out of 5 games? Did he post anything here or anyone that watched his games?
Did they outplay him? Did they cheese him? Did he just play bad?

Lol sweet, I went to bed when Ret was down 0-3 and everyone was freaking out, and I always said theres no point in bitching until ALL the results are in or until Ret is mathematically eliminated, and now he's in.

So I missed the matches, but wanted to watch them. I think I found the vod on the Korean side of the gomtv website ( http://ch.gomtv.com/427/28237/399649 ) but the site tells me the video can only be watched from within the Republic of Korea.

Is there anyway to get around this? (I play for GSL open season subscriptions.)

Was anyone else really impressed with MaruPrime's strategy on Shakuras Plateau? I know that was his only win of the day, but he was being extremely annoying with those tank/thor drops. Strange, he looked really impressive that match- maybe he really didn't want to lose to a foreigner?

not wanting to lose to a foreigner suddenly works magic huh? The power of wish, if you want something really really hard it comes true... sigh

It's something I've said before, and I hate sounding like a broken record, but people around here refuse, JUST REFUSE to give any credit to whoever the liquid guys are up against.

God forbid someone have a nice map specific strategy and executes it well... it musta have been some kind of vodoo thing, he wished he didn't lose to a foreigner and voila, it happens.

Teejing: A spot in the lesser half of the next big GSL tournament.

If he does very well in the lesser half (Code A) tournament, he'll have a chance to play his way into the upper tier (Code S) for the tournament after that.

Hrm, you misread his comment. He was giving MaruPrime credit (see: "really impressive"), he's just surprised / confused as to why he played so well against Ret, because he lost to everyone else.
