Pretty fun listening to Korean commentary.

When is my boy July playing?

He's already guaranteed A class, so the next time you'll see him in a GSL tournament is when the actual Code A tournament starts.

Do we get to watch the A Code tournament? I was under the assumption that it just went on behind the scenes.

Yes we do, commentators mentioned Code A will be broadcasted at 18:00 KST and Code S at 20:00 KST for GSL 2011. Although that can change depending on GomTV.

Ret looses to people who outplay him.

lol don't they all?

Some people here think that Ret and all the foreigners are the best players in their games and loose to some unbeatable new strategies as 2rax scv allins and mass phoenix-voids....People should learn that results and titles is the only thing that counts and remains through time. Also some interesting and funny plays but Ret isn't in that category (macro player, not doing well in micro and decisionmaking).
I really hope Ret and other foreigners become better and more competitive in the future but HuK,HayPro and Ret imho aren't ready for that high level games, while Jinro and Idra proved the opposite

rets fuckin good
zerg is approaching patch 1.0 levels of bullshitness right now
he won just by having the balls to show up and play zerg

When Ret plays at his best, I agree hes a beast.
But IdrA, your zerg bias is just too big here.
Two zergs did win the two first GSL after all

Two zergs won the first two GSL because Cool and ZergBong completely outplayed everyone else, not because they were zerg.

herp derp i use their bw names how cool is that

The races in Code S show no signs of imbalance, 9-9-14. Assuming each slot of Code S has a 1/3 chance of being each race, there is a 42% chance of seeing a result such as extreme as 9-9-14 or more.

Also to all those QQing about racial distribution in the groups, I would not complain, the groups give us a great balance of matchup. If each player plays every player in their group once, we will get :

5 PvP
8 PvT
5 PvZ
8 TvT
14 TvZ
4 ZvZ

Which other than a large number of TvZ's gives us a very good representation of all the match-ups. As a spectator, I find this to be a good thing.

Can't wait for IdrA to get relegated to Code A, yet continue talking how all Code S-ers are bad :D

lol he's gonna keep code S I will be surprised and very disappointed if he doesn't. I hope Jinro can too...

Honestly I wouldn't be surprised if Idra drops off relative to the competition as people get better and he stays the same. Innovation isn't his strong suit.

I would argue that creativity and innovation are at their most powerful early on. As more and more tactics are discovered and counters are developed I would expect that a player with strong mechanics would start to have an edge over players who tend to win with innovative build orders. Basically, there are only so many innovative things you can do and once many of them are known and the counters developed it will be easier to defend against them.

So, sure, I wouldn't be surprised if Idra drops off relative to the competition, but I can also see him slowly getting stronger and stronger every tournament. He is dedicated to practice and while he tends to lag behind on innovation, as he learns to survive the early game he could do very well.
You know what unit really has balance problems? Colossi. Why, they look like they could be blown over in a stiff wind!
