Protoss might be doing semi-bad in the GSL for the moment. but it's 100% due to few P qualifying to ro64 .. Althought i agree that i don't think marines need a nerf there is so much wrong with what you said in your post that it made me lol. 1) Terran is the most UP race at the moment. 2) Basing your view of Protoss on the number that qualified.. that doesn't prove anything - you could just as well say so few P's qualified because marines are OP or P is UP. Anyway - no more balance talk please, it is really annoying ![]()

Back to GSL talk, Nestea's Ling micro was the best I have ever seen in sc2 so far. Sen didn't play badly, and both games were fairly close, but it was still clear that Nestea is the better player, at least in ZvZ. Tough luck for Sen.

I still have hope for Protoss though. TSL GuineaPig is still alive. Now if he loses, I will go berserk and will be 100% convinced that Protoss needs a buff or a change in its tech tree to make it easier for them to get an observer out.

It's impressive how it's still so effective after all those nerfs as well as the recent supply depot/rax change. Back to GSL talk, Nestea's Ling micro was the best I have ever seen in sc2 so far. Was the attacker in both games 2. Almost won both games. When you take into consideration that in ZvZ, whoever ATTACKS has to play better, considering the massive advantage you get when defending, that NesTea may not be better, but had better results in THAT series. If NesTea attacked Sen instead, I think the outcome might have been the opposite. Being able to reinforce your army instantly as opposed to traveling across the map is massive.

Same reason very few are in top 10 on ladders. Race got to many nerfs. Everyone knows this.

Correct me I'm wrong, but I think SCVs can take 5 stalker shots, 3 zealot shots, and 9 sentry shots. Plus they build/repair bunkers. Marines have a high DPS, but low HP. The SCV tank nullifies their low HP. It was really weird when Rain was coming with all those marines and SCV and Tastosis were saying how Genius was in a good position while he only had 2 stalkers. It's obvious that they know relatively little about how protoss works. He was in a good position because warp gate was almost finishing, a third stalker was coming out, and Rain only had 2 marines heading towards Genius's base. If Genius was able to save that third stalker and snipe the two marines coming with the SCVs, rather than getting his third stalker surrounded, and pulled his two other stalkers to the front earlier, he might have been able to hold. By pulling probes to engage the scvs, he could allow his stalkers to engage the marines and in a straight up marine v. stalker batter the stalkers easily win. Not only that, but Genius allowed the bunker to go up, which essentially spells gg. Long story short, Genius could've held, but bad positioning of his initial two stalkers, along with what I believe was a rally error with his third stalker cost him the game. EDIT @ Mindtrix: LOL how the hell is Terran the most UP race atm; I hope you're trolling.

If NesTea attacked Sen instead, I think the outcome might have been the opposite. Being able to reinforce your army instantly as opposed to traveling across the map is massive. This isn't really a valid point. You can say the defender has the advantage for ANY matchup. Also the attacker has its own advantages such as dictating when the battle is going to happen (IE in game 1, sen got quick banes and attacked before nestea had banes), and potential element of surprise (IE: slipping through defense to harass drones). I actually find in ZvZ its usually advantageous to attack first. In other words, Sen's BO was designed for him to be the aggressor. It doesn't make sense to say that if Nestea attacked Sen instead, the outcome would be different. Sen played great though, but Nestea just played better.

![]() some interesting stats: - zerg is 0-4 vs terran on jungle basin and 1-5 on delta quadrant - pvt is the shortest matchup on average, tvt obviously the longest - games on blistering sands and steppes of war are less than 10 minutes on average although of course the sample size is very small ![]()
