Maps - Cross positions on shakuras and metal was the only reason he held that off. Zerg favored maps with long rush.

Seems like only time zerg manages to survive with 14hatch is when it's cross map and terran makes a mistake, requiring both, not just one or the other

It's day 2 of season 3 and I've already seen enough of this poor meta game in ZvT. Stop with the 14 hatch it's going to end like this 90% of the time.
That or get 4 spines to deal with early aggression.

Zerg has a tough time regardless of the build they go... if they dont hatch first, they get bunkered in. If they hatch first, they get these all-in plays against them. If blizzard would increase mapsize, I believe it would alleviate this metagame problem.

Is the difference between pool -> hatch that huge to justify putting themselves at such a risk ?
This rush seemed way faster than what rainbow did, as in 0 chance of holding it unless he made like 3 crawlers or something.

He was being aggressive with it but 2 spine crawlers + many speedlings gave him the time he needed to get banes added. Its not like he waited till banes he tried to take it but couldn't due to good defense by newdawn.
