Yeah I think calling those guys a sideshow attraction is a bit harsh. Obviously there haven't been as many foreigners in years past and they haven't done terribly great but they have a strong showing in this GSL it seems (anyone have an exact number?) and after watching Ret's showing in the qualifying matches he looked scary. I'm looking forward to seeing how he does in the tournament. Idra is of course a solid player too but it seems like despite his very strong macro game he always runs into someone with a cheese that he doesn't have an answer for. Best of lucky to him this time, God knows I'll be rooting for him. Go Zerg!

(I have friends in Korea who told me this) Can't say much for the others, but IdrA is pretty feared in Korea. We know that in Season 1, a lot of the Korean players were getting together to help the opponent beat him. On another note, SlayersBoxer said his favorite player was TLO. Doesn't really mean much, but that's pretty deng awesome. But yea, I think that they have a great chance of winning, especially seeing how so many of them made it in this time.

Okay first of all, ppl gathering up to beat idra wasn't because he was scary. It was bcuz they didn't like him and wanted to see him put in his place. Second, boxer said his favorite player was TLO to show no favoritism towards any korean player. He cleverly avoided any hostility by naming a player who was foreign. BTW the stuff about the foreigners being a joke is just what a lot of everyday korean gamer thinks. It may be unfair or wrong but that is just what they think. You can't argue that. Its a fact.

could be CinabroPrime, but should be BitbyBitPrime. 시나브로 is an adverb that means something along the lines of little by little. Hear this, casters? the guy's name is BitbyBitPrime. and all hearts to the randomer who qualified. what a baller. he will be the first ever exception to my Yim Yo Hwan auto-root.

(I have friends in Korea who told me this) Very slim chance but not because of the number of participants in the GSL. I don't think there were that many koreans in blizzcon but NexGenius won the whole thing and he even said it was easier than qualifying for the GSL. Sure words come out of that arrogant guy can't be completely taken as truth but it is still some indication. I still think there is a gap between the best of the West and the best of Korea.
