Should he be blamed because he is so good he only needs to use marines to beat his opponents? After he wins this season he will only be allowed to use SCV's next season because he is too OP with marines. Reports were flooding in from bnet that he was too OP before the season started so they asked him to only use marines to make it fair to the other players. Looks like they failed so far. We will see in the finals. Who are 'they' and do you have any cite for these 'reports'? From what I have heard MakaPrime was the biggest crybaby per usual.

His playstyle reminds me of F91 especially in a Bo5-7 series, not cheesy but definitily psychological based and abusive openings from maka rax to no gas CC, then played proper in the last game. Mind fucking HT

The kids is brilliant, his use of marines against blings just blew my mind. I had to pick it up, then watch him do it again. HopeTorture looked lost the whole time. Completely one sided. I really enjoy watching FoxeR. I hope he keeps the name. I also am confused to why people wouldnt give him credit, I mean besides a few over confident decisions, like when he dropped on hopetortures natural and just lost his whole force, what in his game isnt top notch right now?

He should come up with a name that at least loosely describes HIM, not some other player, and certainly he shouldn't keep a name that depicts him as a phony. It's true that Foxer has already kinda grown onto the fans, but it's not too late.

If winning were everything, then fakeBoxeR would look like the king of the world right now.. but winning isn't everything (unless you're a player hungry for a piece of a big prizepool, which GSL viewers are not).. Therefore of course there are legit criticisms to be made of fakeboxer's play so far..

The match that he lost against ITR on XNC, it's like he tried only marines and no stim just to see if it worked.

Why do you think these players abandon school, work and everything else to practice relentlessly? To give you a show that is fit for your liking? I'm sorry my dear Lord but that's not the way it works. How can you NOT be entertained by Foxers amazing control and excellent pushes?

IdrA is like Fruit...loves droning like crazy, never builds more units than he absolutely has to, tries to avoid deviating from his macro game if at all possible. He doesn't do great with hyperaggression, especially when it both involves perfect micro, and fast expansions.

Sure he is talented in ways (bio micro etc), and is demonstrating the potential power of mass tier1 units.. I give him credit in that regard. But let's call a spade a spade. this guy is almost cheesing without making it look like cheese.. Can you blame him? no. he wins. But I sure as hell can say that I don't enjoy watching his style of play one bit.. And I feel he is taking away from what could have been a much better GSL season.. NOTE: ITR deserved to lose completely through his inability to catch on or deal with sucha strategy. That's also quite clear. Fuck both ITR and fakeBoxeR ![]() Wow, you're a right little twat, aren't you? So very good of you to give him 'credit' for outplaying top quality opponents - taking out last season's number 1 and 2. It's not enough that amazing, ground-breaking play (only possible through fucking incredible, nearly perfect micro), changing up the 'most boring matchup' - TvT, , and turning it totally on its head takes your enjoyment away? What the hell? But you have to go insulting him. Cheese? Seriously? He fast expands, under the cover of major aggression, then takes a safe 3rd shortly afterwards and you call it cheese? He sets himself up for the most unbelievable macro with this opening. It's a fucking exemplar of 'not-cheese', quite apart from the fact that it's totally revolutionary play. Until this match I thought he was an upstart, but he has legitimised this type of play in TvT now. I wonder how real Boxer will deal with it...

I think Foxer is good at exploiting holes in timings/metagame styles (say timings in TvT, TvZ, TvP). Boxer is good at exploiting holes in players also. Of course he's also the MacGuyver of Starcraft, showing us all his neat tricks. (Viking flower, PDD bait etc) If Boxer does indeed make it to Grand Finals it will be a crazy match. Both players have a week to prepare and figure out a strategy or hole in the other'ss. Foxer currently doing a lot of 1raxFE->marine pressure or multirax low gas, while Boxer into more standard Banshee->Viking/Tank.

I bet none of you would either. Yup. Play to win. Plus this is the best way to advance the game. Most of you have probably read this, but it discusses 'how to be a pro', and 'playing to win' in regards to high level competitive games. http://www.sirlin.net/ptw If something works, abuse the hell out of it till something can stop you. This is the only real way to be the best. Use strong strategies, abuse it, learn the counters to it, then the counters to that. No one really knows right now from tournament replays if Foxer has way more depth to him, which I believe he does, from some of his longer or more varied games. If nothing can stop this marine pressure, then everyone should do it. At which point the game will break down, because there's not enough depth into it. Anyway, clearly SC2 is not that shallow, whether Foxer is a strong player will be determined when we see how he plays after his pressure play breaks down.

They fed me that line of BS back in little league. It's a dog eat dog world out there and if some people want to believe in Santa Claus, who are we to tell them to stop? You're really good at winning, Foxer. It's a very nice skill toi have.
