Machine and Lz can't play Idra because they are in EG.

ZvZ is Idra's worst MU so both the zergs have a good chance. I think Machine's slightly better but Slush has a better chance to make it to the final.
Yeah I'm pretty surprised Huk is ranked above the two Zergs. Realistically I'd say either Machine or Slush have the best chance just because of the nature of ZvZ, and watching Huk vs IdrA at MLG it's hard to see how Huk could manufacture a win against the Gracken

I really enjoyed watching Machine play he is awesome to watch. He deals with situation that would totally destroy almost all other players so well.

I think Huk is the best player of those 4 for sure, but I'm not sure if his play against a defensive macro style zerg suits his playstyle, since he is probably the best foreigner in winning early/mid game styles of play. Put this along with the fact that Idra's worst MU is the slightly random ZvZ and I think Machine and Slush have the best chance.
With that said I think Idra should play very well and will probably take it no matter who he's against, but I just cna't wait for good games, regardless of who plays and who wins.

if he went vikings, he wouldnt have the amount of ground army to pressure like he could on steppes. True, but all GSL terrans always go vikings against colossi. I've never seen pure MM ball against colossi by top players. It's very risky, most of times won't work, no matter how much ground units you have. well yeah the normal approach would be go to a bio heavy army, assisted with vikings and medivacs and upgrades to counteract colossi. the problem with that is that pressuring becomes increasingly harder, and late game tvp becomes difficult as a high number of colossi can simply shred a bio army before the vikings can finish them, so it requires a tough balance between vikings and ground army so you don't get run over, especially with the threat of an ht transition. i imagine that drewbie wanted to forego upgrades past +1 since they would require a factory and armory, which is very costly, and just put all money into marauder marine and use the overwhelming numbers to 1) expand faster and everywhere with map control 2) apply pressure 3) keep armies small, since terran works best in small fights. i don't know which is better, but i definately want to give drewbie's style a try that's an interesting POV becasue i watch BratOK stream whenever i can and he thinks that Viking's effectiveness grows as the game progresses, forcing protoss to go storm. And while i dont play pvt much too often ^_^ i think that logically makes sense, because of viking range and ability to 2 shot collosus, after an engagement you have the option to simply hang around his robotics and deny all his collosus alltogether.

Are there going to be replays available from this event?
|
the games gave me an impression that ladder gamers lack of the ability to think or adapt their play style accordingly. i am shocked by drewbie has 0 viking in TvP. seriously?
anyway, give us replay pack asap!!:D

Huk is indeed strong but his PvZ is pretty weak compared to other matchups. I hope he's been working hard on it.

Thank you. To bad you can't resize the window. Its either Fullscreen or Smallscreen.
Why can't you detach the window as on livestreams? Cheers! : )

Man, I never was the biggest HuK fan but in that game HuK vs Drewbie, HuK played like such a boss man. I'm really impressed.

Huk vs Drewbie game 2 just made no sense to me..drewbie had more shit all game then he just ggs :O

HuK is definitely the best player in the semis, I would love to see a HuK vs IdrA rematch considering MLG the patch was just released and he didn't have any time to practice and adapt, it showed in his play the changes really had a big effect on pvz.

Got to watch some of the cast last night, the stream quality was just beautiful, so great job to SirScoots setting up the infrastructure that well. As always djWheat + Day9 is a fantastic casting duo.
