Drewbie is a good player, but why don't you get vikings against colossi?

if he went vikings, he wouldnt have the amount of ground army to pressure like he could on steppes.

True, but all GSL terrans always go vikings against colossi. I've never seen pure MM ball against colossi by top players. It's very risky, most of times won't work, no matter how much ground units you have.

well yeah the normal approach would be go to a bio heavy army, assisted with vikings and medivacs and upgrades to counteract colossi. the problem with that is that pressuring becomes increasingly harder, and late game tvp becomes difficult as a high number of colossi can simply shred a bio army before the vikings can finish them, so it requires a tough balance between vikings and ground army so you don't get run over, especially with the threat of an ht transition.

i imagine that drewbie wanted to forego upgrades past +1 since they would require a factory and armory, which is very costly, and just put all money into marauder marine and use the overwhelming numbers to 1) expand faster and everywhere with map control 2) apply pressure 3) keep armies small, since terran works best in small fights.

i don't know which is better, but i definately want to give drewbie's style a try

Hopefully Machine playes well tomorrow, he's gonna run HuK over if he plays his normal game.

Hopefully people some day stop overrating HuK and underrating all of these other guys that are atleast as good.

Don't see what the problem is. HuK deserves all the hype and support he gets.

Yeah more support and hype for gamers in general imo!!

I just dont think HuK should get any more then alot of players in NA that are atleast as good as he is.

HuK is just geting started guys, he nothing yet compared to what he will become if he keeps working and beeing as passioned about the game as it seems he is.

Hopefully he will learn some basic theory and play once he gets to Korea.

I see HuK winning mostly because he's been working on mechanics and stuff that makes you win in the early development of a game instead of focusing on gaining a good basic understanding of fundamentals. He's winning so many games he should have lost just by keeping his mechanics going when others fall down, but his play is still pretty bad.

Ive said some things about HuK that might make you think ive got something against HuK but I dont.
I think HuK will rise above every other player in NA except for IdrA. His passion and hard work has built him very solid mechanics and once he gets more routines and learn basic RTS concepts he will be a BEAST! Hopefully ~GSL season 6 we can see HuK as a major contender for the title! And remember things will be alot more solid and tougher then!

anyone know if tournament replays are going to be uploaded? will miss both semi's tomorrow really want to follow machine's games.
I hope machine wins if not slush.
personally I think machine or slush are only 2 players that can beat idra 1v1. Machine has solid zvz and slush has really innovative zvz builds which will throw idra off.

Seriously, I can't believe he said that. He had was on tier one FORTY minutes into a game, then whines about not being able to beat protoss? Amazing.

If you play a macro game, you lose to templar warpins + collosus accumulation. He was obv trying to go mass marine/marauder + mass expo for a huge amount of units b4 templar. It didn't work

Stop looking at the game one dimensionally. The reason all Terrans are doing these 1-2 base strange builds, like "tier one forty minutes into a game" is because a macro game is impossible to win.

Good play by huk either way and great casting

On Immortals for PvT Steppes vs marauders only pressure: since Immortals are so slow they are downright exploited by marauders' movement tricks, especially considering the winding passages and cliffs. Don't expect to preserve any structures or expansions once you start having a lot of territory to defend. Also at high base and barracks counts for the Terran, it's a triviality for him to toss in more marines to pepper the Immortals to pieces. Immortals also don't synergize nearly as well with the terrain and force fields as Colossi do at higher numbers.

Rooting for HuK in the semis to keep holding down for Protoss, though I wouldn't feel too bad if Machine went further considering his poor luck with brackets in the past.

Don't worry other terran players like Avilo complain about the same thing.

I was sad to come back and see drewbie got 3-0'd .

I predict Machine to beat Huk 3-1, Slush to beat Lz 3-0 or 3-1 not sure which. But I do predict a zvz "finals" (i put "finals" because winner that is not eg faces Idra .)

WHEAT the pro! - So calm and easy to watch and listen to, and at the same time gets you really focused on whats going on.

Day9 the master! - Knows so much, so experienced and great expert analysis.

I just wish that wheat got to lead the show and day9 be the expert he is.

Day9 geting so trimmed up and exstatic some times you want to just mute the sound.
However when he's giving analysis its like plugging a cord into the back of your neck that automatically upgrades your brain! Just like in the good old classic The Matrix!

Best casters there is, always a great time!

You and HuK played some amazing games that had me on the edge of my seat the whole time. Thank you both for being awesome!

ZvZ is Idra's worst MU so both the zergs have a good chance. I think Machine's slightly better but Slush has a better chance to make it to the final.
