I think that PF at the gold is going to be critical. It really shuts down a major lane of attack and gives Select so much map control.

tbh the lonely DT in the main shut down a lot of drops - although the early tech put kiwi behind I think DTs in late-game for guarding expos could be extremely awsome

lol awesome how kiwi held off that push with his secondary army. good pick up and retreat by select too

Stupid nintendo wii internet can't stream, moar text updates somebody

KiWi keeps mismicroing the Colossus, moving them before the animation is done =(

Wheat doesn't know the game. He's a great commentator for sure for the flow and the way he prods and picks Day[9]s brains, but he's not giving anything insightful. That's totally fine considering there are some commentators that don't know what the game or the units do and jibber shit.
Day9 though is just a fucking beast. Not as funny as tasteless or insightful like Artosis, but a great great commentator.

I'm digging the use of dt's as an integral part of the army

oh gaaaaaawd
Select gets a bunch of marauders past the FFs and picks off all the colossi.
|
And there goes Select's insane multitask macro.... just lol

He lost so many probes

Drops. Drops. Drops and marauders. GG

Kiwi should have been happy with the massive scv kills with the 3 collossus. instead he wanted to stick around to die.

Crazy good micro, waiting for all zlots to charge and THEN stims, while fighting two fronts.

I just don't get why you can't complain about boring MMM-tactics AND appreciate selects play at the same time?
I mean, I think select is one of the very best terrans in the western hemisphere when it comes down to micro....but still I find his gamestyle/overall-concept very predictable and boring; why does everything has to be black and white? why must it always come to either be 100% in favour or 100% against a player? there are aspects I admire about select's play and aspects I don't like; same goes for pretty much every player; what's wrong with that? if those games weren't interesting to you simply because they featured a bio ball (reading this post of yours i don't think that's the case for you, but certainly for others here) then you (using the term "you" loosely here!) are missing out on incredibly important aspects of this game and simply seeing 'well he made some marauders', that makes you a bad player and "you" should keep quiet! I fail to see how me having a supposedly "Greater understanding" of the game would change my opinion of the games i saw, i think its an elitist argument on a base level and on a greater level its not really a counter at all to what im saying, its sitting in the camp of "well you just wouldnt understand, its a bit over your head". I have said again and again that just because i thought the game was boring doesnt mean intrinsically it was to anyone else, but im allowed to have my opinion regardless. I appreciate his micro and i think he deserved the victory, but so far as being a spectator is concerned if the whole tournament was like that then id be sorely dissapointed. i don't understand how you can completely seperate yourself into two entities like that. the 'spectator' who is easily bored by seeing the same units over and over, and the 'player' who appreciates the tremendous display of skill that was select vs nony. i don't understand how ANY competitive player can be bored of a sc2 match simply because he's seen marauders before. I think his argument is that the games aren't particularly varied and that the unit mixes from Terran have been very similar in every TvP mu today, yet that doesn't prevent good players from appreciating good play. Seems like a reasonable observation right now from a spectator standpoint, the other mu's have been a lot more enjoyable to watch from a casual spectator standpoint. then we return to my original 'fuck the casual spectator this is teamliquid.net' standpoint! You really cant see how appreciation and entertaining are two different things? I am not a casual spectator by any means. quite frankly i don't see the necessity of separating the two. storkhwaiting summed it up pretty well I gave you a prime example in other sports, i can give many many other examples Maybe its part of the 1800 diamond club mentality on tl.net but the only arguments i see against seem elitist and seem to assume things about me as part of their argument which are not true, and seem to believe that my opinions is somehow irrelevant because they assume i dont understand how well Select played. You assume that i cant appreciate his micro, you assume i cant appreciate his scouting, and most of all the bridge key of the argument is you assume that because i appreciate these things i have to find it entertaining, well i do appreciate it but i dont find it entertaining, and i cant really argue better than that because whoever counters me is arguing on baseless accusations because of the general culture on here. Basically, you're saying facts don't matter, only your opinion of what's entertaining. So quite frankly I don't give a shit what your opinion is anymore. You were trying to claim that Select's bio play was not impressive and boring. It is very impressive, and its entertainment value is an intangible based on individual opinion. Therefore, considering that all you want to do is insist on your opinion and have no facts to support it, there is no need for further discussion. Thanks and goodbye. I gave you a prime example which you have not refuted, i have concluded you are not interested in arguing, if you derive all your enjoyment from statistics then god help you sir.
Thanks and goodbye (did i do that right?)

Where are all the high temps this tournament? Protoss seem to not like them at all, even though they're so good vs terran in general.
