I think it is almost always ladder rank, but when GSL rank is significant they sometimes put in instead ( such is the case for fruit dealer and rainbow)

I thought the (#2) was their ladder ranking, but seems I was wrong. What's the number for ?

maka and ITR to make it through.

I think it should be pretty evident by now that they've used some sort of seeding for the prelims

On a side note, for the time being I don't think we can say Moon is a decent player for SC2. As what I read from Lyn interview, they are just playing it for fun at the moment, and mostly only during their leisure time. And by just playing leisurely like that Lyn can get through Ro64 :D I can start to hope that they have more potentials inside :D

Anyone knows why theStC isn't participating?

Yeah, Lyn is the only one of the WC3 players to qualify. Moon got close, but ReminD, SouL, Soccer and a couple of others all got owned. It's hard to compete with guys playing full-time when you can only commit maybe a couple of hours each day to practice.

so, is maka playing or not?! the main database says he was absent.. however this says hes playing?! goo maka! assuming hes there

Considering thats the only tourny he hasnt won before and theres a fairly large prize pool at stake since he was already in the semi's he probably practiced more WC3 than SC2. I think for these people "leisure time" just means they dont do it 12-14 hours a day lol.

Yea, maybe, I can't know for sure. But aren't they still contracting as WC3 players as for the moment?
Honestly I do hope that they can do a formal switch to SC2 and perform well. Check did this and he's actually doing OK.

That might be also the case for them :D
8-12hrs of WC3, and then another 4hrs of SC2 is still much more than usual commoner like me who can only manage 8hrs ... per week :D

I think technically they're playing it "just for fun." Here is my reasoning. I think the only reason they were able to participate in the qualifiers to begin with as WeMade players is that they are still contracted as WC3 players, and their main game is still WC3. So, this was a sort of side-project or something they did in their free. So, it would appear that they are only able to play SC2 in their free-time due to their structured practice regiment for WC3.
However, seeing the amount of time/dedication they've put into the game so far, I think they'll definitely be switching over to SC2 full-time when their contracts have expired. I think its been said by the player in interviews that they will switch over sometime next year. I'm assuming thats when their contracts with WeMade will have expired.

MLG: Give us an idea of the lifestyle and practice regimen of a pro gamer in Korea.
Idra: We practiced for 12 to 13 hours a day, had around two hours of free time during the day, and got, on average, two days off a month—couldn't really leave the house other than that.
Seeing the number of WC3 players trying to qualify, I have a feeling we'll be seeing almost all of them try out @ GSL#3

check is a beast! more than ok . Moon is awesome, hopefully he will be back, he wasnt the best player ever at the start of wc3 either. So hopefully he will adjust and do something awesome .Although i feel like he should play zerg!

Hmmm looking like a good roster so far!
