You can't just leave everything and fly to korea. Unless maybe you are rich in the begin with and have no personal life. Of course there are certain logistic issues behind it but we have already seen several pros move to a different country for longer period of time for much less money(Cloud, Naniwa, Demuslim). They're still in Europe though. Moving from one European country to another isn't as huge as moving half-way across the globe to Korea. Its a huge difference in culture, language, economy.

Also In Germany they get some normal appartmants and don't have to bunk up with 10 other guys in a country 12 flight-hours away with a whole different culture. I Doubt that Demuslim made less money than Jinro in that period of time.

Depending on where exactly you are its like 2-3 hour flight or you could also go by train or car. And since all of the countries are in the european union its generally a lot easier. I really do wish there was some way for GOM to send out representatives to germany, play on a line that has good connection with korea and for Blizzard to make some kind of special "qualifier/competition" server so that lag is not an issue. Unfortunately it doesn't seem possible, but it would be great for e-sports.

Race good at going one base, race with high strength units and fewer of them, race with summonable buildings which doesn't require the worker to stay working on the building? The creep / blighted ground is the only zerg similarity, so I ask - have you ever played UD?

Well moving from Sweden or Great Britain to Germany is a lot easier than going to Korea. Besides, I am no really sure if it is for less money. They are getting paid a salary, theire chances on winning matches in the EPS (+ going to the finals) are really good since they are better than most german players and they can compete in european online tournaments. Sure, if they make it always past R32, they would earn more money. But how are the chances? And they need someone to sponsor their stay. The OGs/Liquid house will be full at some point. :D E: Too slow, too slow.. ![]()

Outside of the building summoning there isn't really anything similar about Protoss and UD. edit: Anyways, these comparisons are kind of dumb. Different games, different play styles.

There have to be some name players in there but we don't know who they are. Seems that no-one is paying attention to it because there are no foreigners.

Unfortunately it doesn't seem possible, but it would be great for e-sports. GOM does have the World Championship and Ladder Tournament for next year aside from the GSL tournaments: Plans for GSL 2011 There will be 12 tournaments throughout 2011, and there will be 4 types of tournaments. 1. GSL (Ran in January, March, April, July and September) - Main League. 32 Code S players tournament and 64 Code A players tournament. 2. World Championship (Ran in June and October) - 4 representative from each region in a 16 man tournament. 3. Ladder Tournament (Ran in February, August and November) - Tournament to decide best of Battle.Net ladder. Top 200 from each region are invited to participate in a preliminary for a 16 man double elimination tournament. 4. Blizzard Cup (Ran in December) - Top 8 (of GSL ranking I'm guessing?) will be invited to decide the best player of the year in a Bo5 Playoff format tournament.

Yea, certainly nothing like zerg.
