I like how Cool handled himself when he was asked about switching races. Honestly, I feel that was an inappropriate question for Artosis to ask; but his questions might just be handed to him by GomTV...
I totally expected it to be a 3-2 series with Cool taking first 2 and the last sets. Game 1 was just plain epic... + Show Spoiler +Excellent poise defending that failed bunker rush. I was actually really surprised it didn't set LiveForever back more; what with dragging 3 SCVs up there, and losing 4? bunkers. All those amazing fungals and pushing back the expo harass showed us why Cool is in the Finals...
Game 2... + Show Spoiler +That destructible rocks push where Cool turned him around was just plain baller...
Game 3, I about lost it... + Show Spoiler +I totally expected LiveForever to take this game. Cool 1base muta, throwin down that late late extra hatch so as to avoid a base trade? Hardcore, imo...

Given that only terrans remain and Cool said he hates PvZ even more, i think that Cool has a decent chance of winning. Though, i think IntoTheRainbow aka HopeTorture is going to win, IF he can beat Ensnare. Ensnare had kind of good micro, but i don't think he can win vs Cool.
Still remembering the 17173(?) or something World Cup, which was for me the best Tournament before GSL. Cool put up a hot show there too.

When did he say that? I thought it was only CheckPrime that said Protoss was tougher. As far as I know, when Cool was ranting against the patch, he was complaining about Terran drops.

Not trying to talk balance here, just delivering a (not very serious) popular opinion. Seriously that did not look easy. Several flanks, perfect timing, perfect fungalgs, perfect baneling bomb drops. So many factors in one attack. Plays like that is what makes e-sports wonderful to watch. Watching some terran turtle and kick ass with mech doesnt look impressive at all, neither does some simple click-s micro with reapers which for some reason only a few terrans know how to do (not saying that there arent impressive T's, but T seldom need to show skill sadly). So my point is that Cools wins cant be used as weight for balance discussions. Especially since Top literally gave Cool the win against him for free.
The hard part with reapers, and why it's impressive if a terran can do it, is not the actual micro with the reapers. Virtually anyone can do it, IF all they are controlling are the reapers. The hard part is being active enough with your reapers to do damage, accumulate your ball of reapers, lose none while at the same time macro'g in your base, building the necessary depot's, mules, expanding, more rax, etc. to prepare for your transition.
You really really have to babysit reapers or they go poof! and if you move them back to macro to avoid having them just die then you run into the problem of they don't do enough damage.

Not trying to talk balance here, just delivering a (not very serious) popular opinion. In general, I think that the recent patch changes actually have a more significant impact than has been evident or that people give it credit for. Just imaging if that second bunker in the first game finished before the SCV got take out as it would have pre patch. Also the ling/bling/infestor roll overs woulnd't have been as effective without the tank damage change.

The first game is free, then you have to pay if you want to watch the whole series.

Games were really good. Yes, you most likely have to pay $20 to watch the VOD - at this point, it might not be worth it unless you're planning on watching all the older VODs as well, or if you really want to watch the next semi-finals and the finals.

Idra has already stated (in state of the game 12 podcast) that even though Cool is the best player, he would rather have him lose, because if he wins people will discredit the very real imbalance of Terrancraft just because there was a Zerg winner of the GSL.
I'm worried about it, but I honestly don't care that much. Cool IS the best player in the GSL and deserves to win no matter what Terrans will inevitably say about balance afterwords.

Both Ensnare and IntoTheRainbow have shown pretty much flawless play. I would say that Cool games were the most spectacular, but is he the best it's too early to say.

Awesome what a nice surprise to wake up to. Go Cool =]!

Nice game to watch+ Show Spoiler +but i guess the terran really was nervous. he's made a lot of small mistakes, losing those banshees to easy, move command... but here i was, wondering why zerg never used their queens in real battles in this tournament. there goes cool, infusing mutas mid-battle of all things haha
And that was just the first of the series! :D

Idra should whine less and train more. :p
Is there a chance GSL replays will be available one day or another?
