Surname = last name = family name. Only in a Western context your first (given) name comes first...Surname (family name) is written first in Asian countries...If it's not his last name, and it's not his first name, then what is it ? For example, in the U.S, it would be written as Kyle Kim. I'm astounded that I had to explain that.

Afaik it is usual in asian cultures to atleast write the last name first, my asian friends do it and have it even on their doorbell that way.

Just so you know he scouted the close positions before hatching first. If you saw his drone go to the other base while he overlord saw the other he knew it was cross positions and then did hatch first. I guarantee if it wasn't cross he wouldn't have hatch first and that game might have gone better for cool in the early game.
We'll never know and nor does it matter as Cool played soo good :D

Yep, that gave him a lot more advantage.

I don't even think it is "easternizing," he is just being overly nitpicky about semantics.

Up until now, I have always had the epic games from IEM cologne in the back of my head as the most epic tournament games. But this.... this was so god damn epic. Seeing a terran doing so well placed harass and killing off expos but still being way behind because Cool is a friggin macro machine. And his attacks... I friggin jumped out of my chair and spilled beer... Cool my god damn hero. Deal that fruit man!

Except that in the English language, the phrase "last name" means "surname" regardless of the location. Exactly. The phrases "first name" and "last name" have a specific meaning that isn't meant to be broken up into the meaning of its parts. It would not be correct in an application to put "Kim" for the "first name" field if it's your surname.

If I'm speaking in a Western context, then my first name = my given name and my last name = my family name. Whether my family name comes first or second doesn't matter. So even if "Kim" comes first, it is a last name when we are speaking out of a Western perspective. As far as I'm concerned, the use of the term "last name" in the West means "family name."
So yeah, calling "Kim" a first name is pretty wrong.

And this is why Cool is known as the #1 enemy of Zergs worldwide in Korea, he makes ZvT look unbalanced in favor of Zergs. :D
Not trying to talk balance here, just delivering a (not very serious) popular opinion.

Seriously that did not look easy. Several flanks, perfect timing, perfect fungalgs, perfect baneling bomb drops. So many factors in one attack. Plays like that is what makes e-sports wonderful to watch. Watching some terran turtle and kick ass with mech doesnt look impressive at all, neither does some simple click-s micro with reapers which for some reason only a few terrans know how to do (not saying that there arent impressive T's, but T seldom need to show skill sadly).
So my point is that Cools wins cant be used as weight for balance discussions. Especially since Top literally gave Cool the win against him for free.

Yes, expect to hear Terrans saying "but Cool won the first GSL with Zerg" for the next few months

I am in absolute awe of Fruit Dealer. His play is Just so flawless and spectacular and he manages to use every Tiny possible advantage to TurN the Game to his favour. I Really am speechless after how well he played tonight. He won by the slimmest of margins at times but turned those Tiny margins Into crushing victories.
I can't wait to see the grand final now. So epic.
