He probably realized ghosts were coming out, and EMP had destroyed his army in the last round. Probably wanted to pick a fight before ghosts could join the Terran army, and might have intended to take ITR by surprise as well.

problem is that bases were already running low on recources so if ssks would invested into more tech he would not have had enough money for units while terran could have expand easily. game was over already after the first big battle

Well, when was Tester supposed to break that contain? If he waited 5 minutes and then attacked, it'd most likely end the same way, considering Rainbow could tech and expand freely during that time.
