Wow the GSL must of been a decent success
|
This is awesome news. Well in advance so European/NA pros can see how well TLO/IdrA do to guage how well they, realistically, think they can do. I'd love to see Whitera, Dimaga, Demuslim, Tarson, Morrow etc enter. Although it is probably difficult.

Well there's already 1 planned every month this year, and 12 next year.
|
There goes another 20$ and I can't think of a single thing more worth it.
|
:/ Way too early if you ask me.

Hopefully, more foreigners will participate. =]

The plan has always been to have the tournaments monthly, and if you're going to have multiple thousands of people signing up, you may as well have a full week for sign-ups and let everyone know when it will be.
I am curious to see whether previous performance has any bearing on the following tournaments. Can you qualify into a seeded spot in the next ro64 somehow?

It was planned for them to have one every remaining month of this year to prepare themselves for their league next year. Makes sense.

But hopefully Blizzard can polish the game (balance, etc.) before the next GSL.

i hope more EU/NA players take the plunge this time around
|
I'll put in $20 if they actually offer a HD (720p+) stream and vods.
|
One each month?
Doesn't that sort of take away the prestige of it?
|
|
It thought it was supposed to be 3 seasons per year?

This, regular pro games on weekday nights (being an Aussie, games starting 7pm is primetime~) is awesome.
Only thing disappoiting so far has been a large skill disparity in some games, but I guess as qualification gets harder and people get autos (im assuming winners, top2/4/8 etc will get invites into the next season(s)) games will be more even and overall less mistakes etc.

preliminaries are same dates as IEM USA finals in NYC. MLG DC is the weekend after, and BlizzCon is the weekend after that. Poor decision making IMO.

Yeah I wish there was some coordination at the international level for events

The great thing about GSL for players though, is that the next season will never be too far away. This goes both for players who feel they underperformed in the current season and for players who can't make it to a specific season.
