If anyone would still like to enter, please post or PM and I'll add you to the reserve list. It's likely that a few folks will end up having to drop out over the coming weeks, so the sooner you put your name on the reserve, the more likely the chance you'll get in. Also, on that note- If you can't make it, please let me know. It's a real shame when someone can't show for a tournament and nobody knows. Not only does it disrupt the tournament, but it denies the chance for someone else to enter.

I don't want to practice on widescreen for a month only to have my screen cut in half.

Same end result, one way is less burdensome ![]() Didn't get the exact resolution, but the monitors are 4:3 aspect ratio.

I went to the all nighter NE lan the other night... got half way through 1 game on one of their computers and surrendered and went to my car and got my own. Playing one way for months especially at a high level and then it changing on you all of a sudden completely throws off your game. Just cuz you dont think something is a factor doesnt mean that it isnt.

I have to agree here - playing on 16:10 for years (yes, years, all games not just SC2) and then going back to a shitty 4:3 isnt going to help. I will be dropping out of the tourney if the LAN center doesnt allow me to bring my own PC. I could have dealt with playing on medium (I play with everything on ultra), but losing the aspect ratio? Sorry, no can do.

Sorry, no can do. Prolly gunna agree with this. Tbh dont even need my PC just my monitor/keyboard/mouse But i refuse to play on 4:3 in bo1 single elimination tournament. The odds are stacked against the best player actually winning just by having a format of random seeds/single elim/bo1 But you are making it worse by not allowing a simple 30 second monitor swap. If its a lan center im sure they wouldnt rly care if things were swapped out real fast... someone is just being stubborn (im guessing you muzzy) I have a strange feeling if you posted a "poll" for this most people would agree and you seem to be all about polls big guy.

i do agree with the "bo1 until finals" scheme though, should be bo3... @catreina and mylife... and if your gonna threaten to dropout then please just do so someone else can play

The reason we can't have people bringing their monitors is due to fairness- We need everyone playing at the same aspect ratio/resolution. It would be unfair if someone who brings their 24" widescreen gets to play on that, while the other player gets a 19" 4:3. Trust me, I'd prefer a 16:10 setting too, that's what I play at. It's just not available currently. If conditions change and we are able to get in enough monitors of equal size/resolution at 16:10, I'd happily do so. BO1 until finals is necessary for time constraints. There is a losers bracket, so you aren't disqualified for your first loss... this is standard tournament format. When we have 4 PCs alloted for tournament play and 32 players... once you factor in setup time for each person, it's going to be a long day. There is very little out there in the way of SC2 LAN tournaments to base things on. We don't really know how long it will take 32 people to play their matches. If it turns out to be faster, then in the future we can think about BO3. Again to sum up- This is *not* a bring your own computer event and you *will* be bound to the settings dictated by the rules. If you can't or don't wish to comply, please let me know ASAP if you'll be dropping out as I have a reserve list of folks who want in.

It was a statement of fact, and with muzzy's confirmation, I am indeed dropping. Sorry, but playing on 4:3 monitors when flat-panels are < $150 each nowadays is just bad.
