If he bad mouths fine, but it should in no way lead to a season ban. He even said he would play ? As stated before ESL has a so and so reputation already, they are just adding to their woes. I just hope they go back on this and try and run a good tournament instead of trying to run something that is starting to look like a power game. ESL screwed up with the guy who cheated, I understand IdrA would be annoyed specially when they didn't inform him right off the bat ? I agree here. Everyone will see this as an ESL screw up if tonight they don't have a rematch as Idra requested. If you lose the best player in the world due to your own lack of organization, then that is a pretty big screw up. At the very least they'd need a new banner.

It's the admins' responsibility to keep track of stuff like this, and even more so to keep everyone involved informed of what's going on. The fact that IdrA wasn't even aware of the situation until Last Shadow informed him via MSN says a lot. I would've contacted Idra but he was offline on bnet and on the site. His msn information is not on his profile and he's not on irc.

I'm not an IdrA apologist, but it's not like the streamer showed much professionalism in asking for a cast, regardless if BigT talked to Beef before hand or not. On stream-chat, a lot of viewers were asking BigT to just stop whispering IdrA but he kept digging his grave instead of letting tournament organizers take care of it. I really don't want to give BigT too much shit, because he does a really good job when he's casting, but if you want to shoutcast matches with topnotch pros, especially ones as polarizing as IdrA (because obviously it's more viewership for you as well), act like a professional. If someone had just spent a good few minutes BSing me and then asking for a cast I would have said to "f off" as well....not that anyone would want to watch my games =] gotta say i agree 100% with this post, i mean come on we all appreciated the casting and stream by BigT however i thought it was kinda wrong to taunt him as well and later just say "i was just jokin guys LOL RELAX"

Further, ESL should be apologizing and accept a little heat from IdrA because you guys are basically screwing him.

Good luck, no reason top players should waste time with your prize-less tourneys.

It's one thing to ban Idra for BM but it just seems like it is being done to cover the esl's huge mistake.

IdrA agreed to play this match, despite it not in any way being his fault, but only after he ate. He is now banned? Completely unjust and uncalled for. "He's being punished for everything else during this cup and the past 2 IEM Qualifiers. He's had his fair share of warnings and instead he continues to BM against players, casters, and admins. Protip: Telling an admin to f-off ingame doesn't go unpunished." Tell me what he's being punished for. This is an unprofessional post. You don't just ban someone because you are angry at them. You banned him for an unjust reason, and now you are trying to cover that up by saying you banned him for other reasons.

when there is real money, real sponsors (no thanks videocard/peripheral companies), and adults behind the scene, that's when it will be able to take off in the US. until then, it's just attention whoring teenage edramaqueens fucking around. when was the last time we had a stable foreign game league (lol CPL, ESL). honestly, embarrassing.

The anti-boxer if you will in terms of star power. Didn't say it absolved him at all. My point is IdrA was wrong, yes. But it wasn't like he was the only one at fault in the situation. Overall, though, ESL is going to be taking the largest hit to its reputation. IdrA BMs. It's a fact of life. People were already expecting this. The blunder that the ESL made, however, is contrary to their image of being, well, organized. And again, I'm not defending IdrA. Just saying that when he goes off on people, it's not like it's going to make his reputation any worse. Stuff like this just gives him more press.
