Thanks for all the info Adam, tell Sundance to give you a $500 bonus this week People complaining about paying for an HD stream are stupid, Korea doesn't provide a free HD stream, first of all you pay for the cable or internet TV service and second they have tons of ads they play every 15 minutes. Don't you hate how when you're watching proleague you have to wait like 15 minutes between each game just watching ads? That's exactly why you're not paying for it... It costs quite a bit of money to do HD streams, just look at how much money Youtube loses every year. And the $25 to spectate at the event is completely understandable, you have to pay to get into WCG as well, it's worth $25 to see live promatches + all the other stuff to do there.

Spectator passes for the live event ARE $25. That gets you into the event for 3 days. What do you get as a spectator? This is SO COOL. My friend told me that MLG was starting an SC2 thing, but I had no idea it was starting in Raleigh (my hometown)!

I'd totally enter if I though i was any good. I'll be more than happy to go spectate though! Good luck to everyone thinking of entering!

for the open registration problem for not finding talent, why not just handpick from 100 people who sign up based on their battle.net ranking? IE the Diamond 700's will go first, all the way down to low diamond. That way while they may not be PRO players, they are certainly talented ones. Announcing this one month in advance also gives people plenty of time to grind the ladder if they really want to get in,

it would be stupid to look at ladder rankings when the game has only been out for a week, it needs time for everyone to settle in

I see a bunch of posts complaining about registration. I think open registration is fair. If you have an online qualifier then you always end up with people that can't make it for some reason eg parents won't allow it, they can't afford flight plus accommodation, they are in hospital, dog or cat caught on fire etc. It's a huge hassle having to replace people with a weeks notice (I know I wouldn't want to be in that position) on top of having to host a big qualifier over a weekend.

32 players is good considering there aren't many established teams here and the game is new so you can't do a season format. So that pretty much cancels out any team play or individual season since the game got released late july. 32 players will provide enough entertainment over the course of a few days.

Not only that, but certain players play very little ladder, like Machine, or experiment and test limits a lot in ladder, like Morrow.

Definitely one of the main reasons to attend an MLG, lol. Unlimited hotpockets.

The streams MLG runs for tournaments are fantastic with HD or without. When MLG and EA teamed for the Madden Challenge they started with 64 man bracket, by the end of the season they had a 256 man bracket. MLG will treat this correctly and this will get huge.

Going to a event worth it? Well not even speaking on the atomshpere you get when you walk in to the venue you get, Free Stride Gum/Stride shirts, Free Dr Pepper (every flavor), Free Hot Pockets and Hot Pockets gear, and a crapload more of sponsor activity's.

Open Registration seems weird, because most of the pros wont actually go. But if its a trial run thats all good. (except the games, they will be bad)

Pros: MLG Tournament.. yay!

Cons: It will probably be 32 Silver/Gold players competing.

Well the pros are missing out on a nice prize pool considering the other tournaments don't pay as much if you place 3rd at MLG by not attending.

Is MLG going to be pushing gamebattles participation? I'd like to see GB ladders active and then invitationals given based on those ladder rankings.
