Yeah, I'd confirm those two to be deserving to be invited in cup. Both have also been very high ranked in EU beta ladders throughout both phase1&2. Would make sense to have all recent zotac winners get invited at least, seeing it's been most recognized weekly tournament ffa. Current list of invitations looks very "friend heavy", several of players only being invited since they are part of TL community, good SC1 players and such. I'd appreciate if cups were mostly about really strong competitors, and having more EU people wouldn't hurt since there's definately at least equivalent if not better avg top level in EU over US.

I was top 100 in the US for every ladder, and top 50 more recently.

Just because they were a name in BW doesn't necessarily mean they deserve to be in there before some top north american players that put in the work. I couldn't agree with this more. Mondragon/ret......Haven't seen anything good from these guys, anything at all for that matter. Add Newport (protoss) He made 4th place of the kitcat tournament recently.

Invitational Tournaments are about Big Names going at it, to the pleasure of the viewers. One gets invited because he is known, in most of the cases for his good play, in other cases for being an enrichment to the community. If unknown players are as good as you say, they will use the many(!!!) open tournaments to get well-known, which will lead to invitations to next Invitational Tournaments. If the format is a full Invitational Tournaments, there shouldn't be players invited/preferred that are known by just one or two people. If they are that good, they will show it in open tourneys and get invited next time when more people know them.

Bad argument. | ||

The Quoted wanted both criteria. Also, if you think Day9 and Tasteless did perform well against good players, just take the first sentence out; my argument is not based on those two specifically. And of course I want them to be in it!!!!

Reconsider just giving ALL of them a welcome back =/ Eh, I guess it doesn't really matter they've probably upped their skill and may be a good starting place for this. Definitely throw in some nameless rank 1 diamonds though ![]() REALLY excited for this. Wonder if you guys can make an even more baller intro video. That shit got me pumped.

I thought having Day9 and Tasteless was a nice idea to get viewers the first time, do I support them being in there? Sure, they're good guys who are great for the community but everyone in love wiht the Mondragon and Ret picks when they haven't done much in any tournaments all throughout the beta, eh....

I concurrrrrrrrrr. I haven't seen much day9/tasteless other than from the last hdh. I'd love to see how day9's gameplay is since he has so much knowledge of the game already(bringing commentaries/teachings). And for the love of god, please DO NOT pair up sean vs his brother again. ![]()
