My predictions

+ Show Spoiler +
Goblin, I pretty much agree with you. Except I think ITR will beat Idra. I think finals will be Tester vs ITR.

So, from what I've seen, I expect Tester to dominate Huk from the start, it would be nice if Huk can hold him off, but I just don't see it at the moment. Dimaga vs WhiteRa was a little bit weird, it was kinda like Dimaga vs Rainbow now only this time WhiteRa didn't play as strong as usual. I'm curious to see how everything is going to turn out.

Really good tournament, day9, I'm a bit annoyed though that the two representatives of us ladder are taking up spots when they are, imo, far behind the other contestants. lots of people from both asia and eu ladder would hold up much better.

I think the fact that Huk took a game from TLO and Idra proves that he has enormous potential. Obviously he is making costly mistakes at crutial moments along with some touchy micro and game decisions. I think with a bit more big tourney experience Huk will most certainly be able to go deep in future tournaments.

Either way I still expect Rainbow vs Tester in the finals with TLO as the darkhorse in the race. For some reason I'm now feeling Rainbow will pull an upset in the finals.

No offense to HuK, but really the fact that he only wins with early mass warpgate attacks on blistering sands is only reinforcing what people say about him. Sure TLO/Idra should be able to defend against it, though, they clearly are expecting a more tech heavy choice.

Have to agree that sen should be in here, definitely one of the most talented sc2 players around. As Lalush said "the only man in the world who can play ZvT straight up and get away with it"
But it's only fair that 2 USA players get in, I suppose.

I think tester looked ridiculously good so far. He looks like an entirely different level than idra in both the games and that says a lot. I have tremendous respect for idra even if he has terrible BM.

yeah I really don't see how this can be defended at all...like Day9 said its probably the most important unit upgrade in the game and def more important than having an extra collossus. Its the difference between collosus taking no hits in the back and being at the front and absorbing all the damage. Even if after corrupters were out it would've made no difference, an earlier push with thermal lance might've won Huk the game

More important than zealot leg speed? I think Day9 would disagree as he has said that was the most important unit upgrade.

But I do have to agree that Huk made a mistake not getting the extended thermal lance.

the way i see it once u get a decent # of colossi, each time u have to kite is a huge damage loss. charge is only really comparable to lances in PvT, every other MU it's no contest imo.

I am stilling wondering why WhiteRa picked blistering sands in the 3rd game after Dimaga had used baneling busts on him twice. Why would he favour a map with a back door over a huge map with 1 entrance like LT? I know walling off with 2 gates is a strong build, but that is still a vulnerability which he had to spend resources to defend. Who knows, perhaps he would have been able to hold if he could have put those 3 extra cannons at rocks instead of having to build defence at both positions.

Huk is so bad, not even in the same league as these guys. If he cant gateway unit his way to victory he cant win. His little probe harass is just plain pathetic. The lack of thermal lance upgrade for everyone to see is classssssic, haha.

What a weird thing to say... Are you saying he shouldn't harass with his probe even though he can? Or are you making fun of him because he doesn't win the game with his scouting probe?

I was annoyed the whole game because he didn't upgrade thermal lance. I think it would of been a better game. Not that the results would of changed but the game itself would of been more exciting.

Yeah Blistering sands definitely fits into his usual strategy. I think as time progresses, Huk will develop more variety in builds. All I'm saying is that Huk truly has the potential. Right now he has perfected his 4gate push, and now he obvioulsy needs to add more variety to his play.

Huk took a game off both players, he can obviously compete. Sure he likes to 4 gate, that's simply his style of play. It's like saying if Idra can't macro his way to victory he can't win. His probe harassment is nothing negative. There is nothing to do at that stage and is definitely an annoyance to deal with. Lack of thermal lance was definitely a bad mistake, but even the best make mistakes. Such as tester...double core and then chrono boosts the wrong core. TBH I think that's a dumber mistake...just not as costly.

I don't even know why I bothered replying to a troll like you, but whatever.

It just doesnt do anything, so its annoying. You dont see the other protoss players do half as much probe harass. Why? Because it wont effect anything against a good player thus is just a dick thing to do. I suppose it is indicative of his attitude as a whole, based off the latest interview, the guy thinks he is good, but really is just a probe/gateway unit rush kinda guy. Zero chance he has a professional career in SC2.

I expect tvt in the finals , what a suprise this would be ;p

idra is the most predictable player in the tournament , regardless of what oponet is doing he always opens 14 hatch 15 pool or something very similar and then proceed to mass hydras - so pro ;p

huks problem is timing and bad ctrl 1 micro but yea he has potentials and u can see this vs tlo.

tlo just turtling and massing op terran units , doesnt rly stand up to his hype atm imo , everyone can turtle and mass bcs or push with mass tanks and win in this strage of game .

white ra plays unexpectedly good , consider his last tournaments + 2 jobs so no practice time

The 2 korean dudes are by far and away in another league than the europeans or u.s contests imo .
