King of the Beta Day 6 GAMES/VODs ARE UP!

http://day9tv.blip.tv/

could be late, but I don't think so, plus the games aren't even (properly) labeled yet, so I think its them.

Gogogogo.

Need someone to enlighten me here in regards to the "missing game" of HuK.

Why did Day[9] cast another game of Tester vs. TLO when it's actually HuK's game we're missing.

Anyone?

NOTE: Idra vs TLO Game 1 is split into 2 parts due to ustream problems.

Too bad TLO lost Even though I would probably say the same if IdrA would have lost.

I really love TLO's terran play, you rock dude! You are always a bright spot of the tournaments, keep it up.
Enough with the ass kissing.

+ Show Spoiler +
I really thought IdrA would lose with that huge thor push in game 3. Nice defence.

For the alleged "grudge" match they seemed pretty freakin' friendly :o

EHNANANA TIMING. Then Idra pulled it off. Think TLO accidentally mismicroed his scvs which he had brought to repair? Damnit. T_T

Idra v. Masq started off friendly enough and look how that turned out.

Yeah holy crap at the last TLO vs Idra game!

My mind couldn't handle it when Idra fended off that huge Thor push, using his drones too. I literally had a nerdgasm as it became clear Idra had won. Oh my God that was such an awesome moment.

Even though I like TLO more, I'm glad IdrA is moving on so that someone can represent Zerg in the semifinals... Hopefully he won't be matched up against Tester again, otherwise I think he stands a decent chance. Two terran, one zerg, and one protoss- this should be interesting. Also, major props to Qxc for smashing ITR tonight. That was unexpected and awesome.

As far as IdrA's play goes- is it just me or does he not make enough roaches in ZvP? Especially against Tester. The ling hydra pure light army composition has been getting rocked, and he was only saved vs. HuK by the timing on the Ultras. Any thoughts? And no IdrA bashing, just want analysis of his strategy.

Lol, you know its "EE HAN TIMING."

Anyway, I was disappointed by ITR. He seemed maybe distracted or not really into the game. Or he could have been having lag issues because I really doubt he would miss micro that badly "on accident."

Very impressive play by Idra going out of his style in game 2 and 3. I don't think I have ever seen him make mutalisks and despite them being completely ineffective he still managed to hold on after losing so many drones. I don't see many foreigners beating Idra once he gets to the point where he is operating off of four bases, his macro is just that strong.

lol. Why are all of the fanboys on both sides talking abt mechanics as if there was some metre to measure the beta players by. You had 2 extremely short games and one drawn out one. Just stick to what actually happened k?
It can be summarised into.
Tlo was a bit too comfortable playing 1 rax fe. And
Tester showed he had a better understanding of the game and defeated tlo in a bo3.
If you wanted to talk abt the games you could say.
game 2 could have finished a bit earlier but tlo showed better late game mangement than tester who slipped behind in economy and then had a bad unit composition all the way to the end. tlo moved smoothly from rax fact tech tree to starports and used drops quite well. Tester did some ineffecient harass and lost from a down position.
Game 3 tlo lost to a fast void ray that he reacted poorly too. Admittedly the map spawns favour such a strat but it was a good decision from tester and well executed.

IdrA is person who is nice only to players he respects. Doubt the has much respect for Masq for beating him couple of times and then sending the replays to HD. (Sorry if this is not the case, jusut trying to make my point)

But...

TLO can actually be another story as TLO have shown some good games and good results. They were already nice to each other in game two where TLO beat him using BC's and IdrA still GG'g and continued their talk in game 3. That's not very bad mannered in my opinion

I was _amazed_ when IdrA gg'd and quit (especially at such a "rage quit" moment) in game 2, after the NP nerf totally fucked him over. Then at the start of game 3 he was civil.

He was polite and played his ass off (and won!). So proud of him <3

yeah Idra only GGs to people who he feels earn the win, i "ragequit" when i lose to someone who should not have won, its nothing against the person, im just angry that i lost when i shouldnt have, i notice the same thing about idra

masq actually posted 5~6 replays of him vs pro players (whitera, tester, strelock) on the replay thread here. look, you can speculate all you want but unless you actually know greg fields, you really dont know how he thinks and its ill mannered to assume you do based on wafer thin evidence.

IdrA must have heard the last Blizzard chat when it was mentioned that creative play and good manners are favorable (and it shows, as Blizzard websites have featured officially two Beta-scene games so far, both with TLO in them). J/K, of course the games seem to be played before that chat. But IdrA's display of good manners now is very nice to see. I also don't think there was ever any general hostility between him and TLO; I haven't seen hostility by TLO opponents. He plays in such honorable ways, that even his losing opponents would cheer him for making something they enjoy being part of.

I think qxc has better mech play than TLO, as he displayed in his games vs Dimaga. His thor/marauder/hellion push is much harder to deal with than TLO's thor/marine/tank. At least as a Zerg I think so.

qxc really knows how to exploit the strength of terran mech, and it's just gonna be too much for Idra
i was driving down the road this november eve and spotted a hitchhiker walking down the street. i pulled over and saw that it was only a tree. i uprooted it and put it in my trunk. do trees like marshmallow peeps? cause that's all i have and will have.
