Greetings to everyone!
To start of your beta phase 2 experience, I am pleased to announce what I believe to be a very welcomed show-match!
On July 9th, TLO will play vs. White-Ra in a BO7 series.
The times are July 9th,
16:00 London time || 17:00 CET (Paris) II 18:00 UA (Athens) || 19:00 Moscow Time || 11:00am Eastern (USA) || 10:00am Central (USA) and 12:00 am Friday Night/Saturday Morning KST (I believe, if someone could double check the times for me it would be great [Using 19:00 Moscow]).
You can catch games live at www.white-ra.com. The video player, as always, will be embedded into the front page during the series.
The games will be cast in Russian, but I also pmed some English speaking casters to see if they would be interested in broadcasting the games. As soon as I get any info on that, I will update the OP. And as long as nothing weird happens to Bnet, the Bo7 should be played as scheduled on the US server unless EU servers go up.

Ye I actually got kinda excited about those games even though I work with white-ra, wanna wish both players luck, since both of them seem to be pretty cool. To me this is one of the most interesting player match-ups in SC2, big thanks to them for doing this!

I am not exactly positive on this, but I think there will be more games, at least at white-ra.com the organizers been pretty busy (even with BW matches while beta was down) Guess lets hope;)

Times are up in the OP, I believe 18:00 UA time is the Athens time zone.... That should be 17:00 Paris time, 16:00 London time... but again, it would be great if someone could double check for me.... in Bulgaria I think you are at UA/Athens time, so 18:00

Glad to see this announcement, been hoping to see another BO with White-Ra vs TLO, I really love both players, and I can pick one to cheer at, but it would probably be TLO since he hasn't won any BO against White-ra, as far as my knowledge goes.

Well first the law of averages only applies for random outcomes, and only then it applies with a laaarge number of occurrences .
Anyhoo, as much as I am a fan of TLO, it seems that given his commitments with school or w/e, he just can't get the same number of hours down in gaming as those like White-Ra or IdrA; while he's skilled enough to pull games off them, that gap just lets them pull ahead each time. Of course I don't know as a fact, that's just my guess :o

Don't agree with you there. Intensity counts for a bunch. You will not get a huge eSport scene by only providing very deep, technical casts.

According to white-ra.com, white-ra will play as P (obviously) and the race of TLO is marked as a "?", so either they don't know what race he will be playing yet, or he does random

Hi!
I talked to TLO and RA yesterday about a spontaneous showmatch. Seems like it turned out to be this one after all. So i asked RA and TLO again if i may observe and cast. They both agree, so i will stream the showmatches for you and commentate the matches in my silly english as usual.
I will stream in 512x384 (4:3) with only 500kbps, so everybody can watch it without any lag. Basically i stream on low quality because i have a AMD X2 5400+. Keep in mind that streaming uses twice as much CPU as Starcraft2 itself!
I record my voice and i will create VoDs on HD quality afterwards, downloadable as podcasts. Hopefully you can enjoy my stream as much as some of you enjoyed it when i was the spectator of the World Cup.

Yes! Henning, despite any issues you might have with English(accent, whatever) I loved your cast from the 17873(?).com tourney. It's pretty high quality entertainment, even when I watching at 5am in the morning.

Yeah, I think TLO did have the advantage but I don't think it was big enough to give the win. We'll chalk this up to white-ra showing his class.
And btw, i think henning commentary is fine. I was watching him play yesterday as well, and although he's not my favorite (sorry! gretorp wins that) he's still pretty good.

Yeah I also do not see any advantage for TLO.
During his Zergling harass he didn't pump any Drones and actually had less than White Ra at that point, I think.
And well the Muta harass did literally nothing. The gold expand had to prove itself useful at first...
and white raw could've attacked the expansion without any danger.

I also think it was pretty even, but it's only a showmatch so there's nothing wrong with showing some manners in this case. Especially as Desert Oasis sucks ass anyway, so there's no point in playing it again

TLO uses supply drop in builds a lot. I guess the extra 100 minerals instantly is better than 300 minerals over the next minute or so.

Ah, technical issues. It really feels like SC2 is back.
The first game was totally amazing. I feel like the match on DO was pretty even at the disconnect, but WhiteRa is a really good sport for giving TLO the win.

Rematch before beta ends on Eu-Server . We might see some other results.
I personally would have prefered a game on the Eu-servers on sunday. :o --> More practice for both --> better games.. No Lag ---> better games.

Try to think before you post please. If someone has practiced and you switch your race then it could hurt someone because he might have practiced one matchup but not the other. With no practice time on either side by default White-Ra will be equally prepared for every matchup.

First game was pretty great. The rest, not so much.
+ Show Spoiler +I dont really get why white-ra would try such fast mothership, especially on a map with short rush distance. And the 1-base colossi game was pretty bad as well, completely one sided, and I feel like 1-basing is getting out of date pretty quickly. Last game was just W-ra suiciding a bunch of VRs into mass marines. Its pretty funny how he released a replay pack where he does fast VR builds against almost every terran, if TLO watched any of those it wouldn't surprise me as he got a ton of rines in that game.
He did mention that he lagged pretty badly and couldn't control his units properly, and he did get a DC when their situations were fairly equal, it was at least not decided even if TLO might have had a slight advantage. Hopefully we see a rematch later, but I'm glad those games were played now as there isn't much else going on for us on the EU servers.

I cannot read these replays with my SC2 manager. I remember having the same problem with the white-ra replay pack and someone did something with the names? and fixed them. Is this the same sort of deal?

im glad i got to see how top players are thinking in the new patch. Wish the series could have been played on the euro server

yes i'm having trouble loading replays as well. I put them in my sc2beta/replays/recent folder and they don't show up... plus i don't see any of my own replays in the folder even though i see them in the replay manager... is there a new place the beta saves replays? ....

i've noticed when ra gets gas at 3min mark, he only puts 2 probes on gas until the 4th minute, THEN he puts on the 3rd probe... is this intentional?

he probably doesnt need that much gas and needs more minerals instead for his build so i guess it would be intentional

I think, and I may be biased, that TLO could thwart White-ra expanding any further due to his map control. Also, as TLO could fight battles close to White-ra's base, he could easily rebuild an army before he was threatened.

Muta harass doesn't HAVE to do anything like in SC:BW because there isn't an easy way to kill them like irradiate or archons. You can use them as a general unit to kill colossus but still have harassing/ground attack options instead of corruptors which are very specialised.

Maybe for White-Ra that game was also laggy and because of that he gave a lead to TLO.

I'm a big fan of TLO (my favorite SC2 player). But as happy as I am to see him win, I'd like to have seen him play White-Ra at his best, as I am also a fan of White-Ra. Knowing how much of a factor lag played in these games makes me feel a bit disappointed. I am indeed hoping that they meet in another tournament in the future, and possibly play on the Europe servers with minimal lag. Other than that, I'm hoping to be able to download a replay soon to see what their builds are like.

White-Ra didn't seem like he cared very much about this match IMO. I can't blame him, it's a showmatch with no practice at all and no prizes, being played on a laggy server.
Seemed like he just wanted to get it over with. The Desert Oasis game TLO was ahead, but I don't think in a real money tournament that he would've received the win. The game wasn't over by any means.

I love watching these players duke it out as much as the next nerd. However, this showmatch was pretty lackluster. Hoping for better in the future.

I thik that in the game 3 white ra actually was in a better shape after all theses zergling bust fails.
Few mutas vs stalkers - sentries isnt even close and ra had 3 collosus up.
I love tlo though as zerg hes prolly the most agressive player atm.
In game 4 , you can see what the increased zealot build time can do vs an agressive zerg player , toss simply cannot progres through his first base untill he gets some descent stalker sentry army cause links outmassing zealot by a lot.
but in anyway it was too late after that and tlo had 3 bases vs 1 plus a bad push from ra.
I think lag is an exsuse than a real factor .

Thanks, I really enjoyed them as I missed the live games due to work.
I was glad to see TLO win this one, mainly because it sets it up for an even more intense follow up. too bad about the lag, hopefully things clear up for the next match,
My favorite thing about TLO is that as amazing a player as he is you can actually see his game improving. He was known for tricky plays but now we are seeing him dominate even when going standard build by just straight up out playing opponents.
