He just couldn't defend it.

Not to mention Haypro went FE every single game...

He's actually right ... don't flame him like this. Haypro is doing very bad lately in all tournaments he plays. After he won 3-2 vs Luci in the gg.net final, his shape decreased alot. Usually he gets eliminated in the early stages of tournaments but if he goes to a bo5/bo3, these are his latest results: vs Strelok 1-3, vs Naniwa 0-2, vs Kenzy 2-1, vs Lester 1-2, vs Devil 1-2, vs Morrow 0-2 and alot of 0-1 losses vs all kind of players in esl/craft cups.

Wreck his expansion or rape his economy and block your ramp with roaches, it's much easier than trying to play off 2 bases when there's such a huge risk... The problem is speedling/baneling > roach until you hit a critical mass, and it's hard to reach that point now.
Anyone have a link to the Dimaga vs. Freedom game?

He's still one of the most payed players and yeah, losing to Strelok and Naniwa is terrible.. also losing to MorroW, right. All those players amazingly good. Losing ZvZ against Devil (see a pattern here?) ... There are lots of players losing a lot , just because they are figuring out stuff. But really I'm not going to argue.

You can get enough early roaches to block off your ramp, but the problem is the transition to mutas - if a baneling + speedling player sees that you're walling off your ramp he'll probably just tech straight to mutas as well, and two bases > one.
Not to mention, you can't just make 4 roaches and be safe. You need like 8 or so in order to prevent a straight baneling bust ON YOUR ROACHES.

I'm not sure these Koreans would win in a macro game. If you catch my drift.

I was referring to his below mediocre unit control, not his choice of unit composition.

Not even close. and if you watched World Cup you can see how smoothly koreans are capable of transitioning from it into expo or muta or wahtever else they want. Haypro just didnt offer Gerrard anything that would make him explore other possiblities.

Even if you look at Idra's play, who most would consider a pro, he would be favored in most ZvT/ZvP matchups but he had to go through ZvZ yesterday and didn't make it out.

Haypro did try roaches in the third game, but because of the roach supply nerf Gerrard was just able to overwhelm the roaches with speedlings.

7-1 for Asia. TLO took the only match for EU against Loner 3-0. Haypro lost 0-3 to Gerrard and Zpux lost 1-3 to Dayfly. Yesterday, Naniwa lost 1-3 to Eric. TLO vs. Sen was not finished. Maka vs. Haypro was not played.

I agree with this, Haypro just didn't play good enough here to get into any macro game.

I didn't say they can't. I said they wouldn't have the advantage.
Anyway, can't wait for TLO vs Sen again.

TLO will play 2 games :D like Sen

Yea his other match was vs. Sen. He was down 0-2 but he could reverse all-kill if he tightens up his strategy. We know TLO is capable of great feats, despite everything.
Not sure how many games will be played, totally. I'm guessing it'll be 12, though, because the Beta is ending. If so, the EU has already lost 7/12 games so there's no hope for victory, just some face-saving
