Well I didn't find it out myself that's for sure. :p

I think it was GTR here who said so back for...hmm maybe it was the PGR21 tournament that was held in April. Also when the oGs team information was released, they gave all of the names for the players and NcYellow (김성제) was there as one of the terrans. Thanks to the TLPD feature of this site you can search the Hangul name and it gives back (P)RainBOw as the result. It's great to see how many ex pros are in oGs to be honest:

(P)Spunky, (P)TesteR, (Z)Silver, (P)Vical, (Z)Cool, (Z)TheWinD, (Z)SiR@SoNi, (Z)[z-zone]SoO, (Z)[kor]-Rain, (Z)sigamari, (T)Freedom, (Z)Bright, (P)RainBOw, (T)TheStC, (P)GARIMTO. ^^

No it seems not sadly...the war3 one was Kim Tae In and this guy is Kim Sung Je. I would like to see a 400apm player in sc2 though.

It's just a big event that the Chinese site plans to run with pretty much the best Chinese and Korean players involved. Some other nationalities may well be taking part also, Sen for example has received an invite. Details are fairly sparse at the moment while they establish what the teams will be, with the Koreans for example this is what I found out and posted in another thread:

Show nested quote +
...a list of names for the Korean squad was posted up. Freedom, Check, Maka and Cool have all received automatic invites while the remaining spots [I said 4 but I'm not entirely sure how many] will be taken by the winners of a 16 player qualification process, those involved are listed below:

cosmic, hongjinho, isskincom, yongsukchang, gerrard, ssjm, zenio, dayfly, thewind, spunky, hannibal, leeraeun, ssks, anypro, slayersboxer, babybaby

Subs incase people don't turn up: inca, bluemassage, pelias

Names will have changed due to the reset that has happened since I found that info but you can see the competition is going to be of the highest standard.

Most Chinese people do not deem a Taiwanese as someone from other nationalities, therefore, Sen is directly put in the seeds pool of Team China, and now leading in the polls.

Here's the lastest stats of the poll t:

Loner 15% 353
E3_Super 3% 68
Beckham 5% 113
V.A_MTY 2% 47
SCI)_W_Y_W 1% 21
NewLife 1% 32
Duskbin.Sen 21% 472
Empty 2% 50
E3_Fengzi 11% 248
S.C_PJ 7% 149
Duskbin.F91 8% 175
ACE 18% 406
V.A_xiaOt 6% 141

nope. The guy called RainBow in Team oGs is an ex-starcraft player. Team oGs is made up of all former starcraft players excepct for freedom, who was a WCG champion in War3 and a sc:bw progamer of Team Sumsung.

Ah my mistake sorry! Over here in the UK we tend to view them as two distinct countries. Was Prodtoss right when he said that the 3 players with the most votes in this poll will be seeded into the final tournament? While the other 11 will have to join Empty, FengZi, PJ, F91 and Ace in even more qualifying matches?

@Prodtoss - Thanks I always hope they will release the information before I go to sleep but no they wait until I'm in bed and I have to update it in the morning when the games already started. *sigh*

I think I read somewhere on their page (in google translation, can't speak chinese), that the vote is to determine the seeded players (each group will have 1 seeded player apparently),

Ah I see, so we each made 3 votes but it's only to get a list of who the most popular are so they can be seeded. I should read things more properly instead of rushing to make assumptions...

Do we know yet how many play-off groups there will be? Is E the last qualifying group for the Koreans for example? Looking through I count 14 Chinese players and I think it will end with 10 Korean players also, so does that mean they have enough and they will go with 6 groups of 4 for the play-offs? Or maybe invite 8 players from Europe and the USA to make it 32 total for 8 groups? (I can dream )

First match should go live anytime now, here's hoping for some fireworks and a five way draw at 2-2 so we get even more to watch. ^^

haha,But it is too late may go to 0:00(GM+8)

I will switch to 178 Asian VS Europe starleague at 9:00

2gate on near position on metropolis vs zerg is so strong

Cosmic-vs-Phantasm,Metalopolis
Dayfly -vs-Zenio ,Lost Temple
hongjinho-vs-Cosmic,Kulas Ravine
Phantasm-vs-Dayfly ,Steppes of War
Zenio -vs-hongjinho,Scrap Station
Cosmic-vs-Dayfly ,Incineration Zone
Phantasm-vs-Zenio ,Desert Oasis
Dayfly -vs-hongjinho,Blistering Sands
Cosmic-vs-Zenio ,Metalopolis
Phantasm-vs-hongjinho,Lost Temple

Zenio is late so switch to hongjinho-vs-Cosmic,Kulas Ravine

Very nice fight back by Dayfly when I thought Dayfly will lose this match.

Wooo..most Dayfly's matchs are so exciting

haha, all matchs of Dayfly are firework and epic!

So lucky for me to watch all the matchs due to 178 starleague delayed

Well I only saw the first two games as I went out for a walk most of the afternoon but with your comments I am really looking forward to the vods, getting to see them all sure was lucky! Although maybe watching the Bananacraft video for the 100th time became annoying?

I voted for Freedom, sSKS and Dayfly as my seed choices since I think they all bring something special to their play of each of the races, although damn it was a tough choice since Anypro is also an interesting protoss player and I really liked watching NCYellow's terran too.

For now I've listed all the qualified players so far in the first post so it's easy to see who will be involved in these final play-off stages. 25 seems a strange number though for making groups as I'm sure they originally wanted to have 8 groups in total.
