i bet he's purposely #2 on ladder for a reason

Just watch the quarterfinal results of Kaspersky cup:
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=124953

We must wait and see more tournaments, there is too much fluctuation in these low numbers. We could just as well assume that BratOK is simply not as good in SC2 yet.

You can wait the final result of K's cup, Freedom (the best in my mind) and Sen still alive. By the way, you can also check the first week's result of 173's Euro vs Asian match......

Will the next group start shortly after this one finishes or will it wait the scheduled couple of hours?

If anybody knows?

Is it true that the Chinese commentators thought Brat_ok was one of Europe's best players? lol.

These guys haven't exactly been on top of the commentary for any of the previous games so far...so its quite possible that they thought this.

Because he is...?

How many european terrans would you say are above him then? I only count perhaps 3 at most so surely that qualifies him as one of our best?

I think he might've been okay if he didn't lose those two void rays in the beginning. Five void rays would probably have been able to hold back Rainbow's army.

Either way someone said that the commentators predicted Super to lose because he's the weakest player in the bunch, so the fact that he won one is perhaps a reason for celebration?

The pool of players in this tournament is terrifying.

I know tonight is the first night of play-off action but hopefully somebody will be able to post results for each group for those of us who can't watch them all.

I'm REALLY curious to see how the top Western players (like TLO, Idra, White-ra etc) match up with these eastern powerhouses.

I've been putting spoilers with the results below each group but if it would help I could put each players win/loss record also and not just who qualified?

yes post records too plz ^^;

i think these asians are are quite a bit higher caliber than the ones in Kaspersky (except sen/freedom of course). gotta wait till the EUs play in both to be sure ^^;

I don't think it's appropriate to make a judgment this early. This tournament will involve some of the strongest players in the EU and Asia, and the group elimination format ensures that they will play plenty of games against each other, so by the end of it, we will know the relative strengths.

The only sad part is that the only person representing the US will be IdrA, not that IdrA is not a great player. I just thought we needed more representation.

Any notable tourney wins? He think he got to the finals of the most recent zotac cup which is no small feat but he got destroyed by TLO.

So I guess he just played really badly today or the other players were just that much better.
