Great list of players. I have been hoping to see some of the big Europeans vs North Americans. This is going to be epic. Cannot wait!

Didn't mean to cause a ruckus, just was curious why Nony of all people isn't in this. He has skill, he has name recognition, he wants in.

Great tounament you are putting together. It's a shame that this thread is filled with "why didn't XXX get a spot". Don't let that discourage you
I find it interesting that this thread is full of second guessing on who should be invited, while the TLI wasn't to the same extent.
I sort of feel sorry for the really good ladder players who feel left out, but maybe they should sign up for some open tournaments and make a name for themselves outside of the ladder. There are probably 100 Platinium League across the 3 realms so being #1 in one of them doesn't really qualify to get invited to an invitational. It requires something extra... go get that something extra!

Just to drop my 5 cents here, you say you want entertainment over established players. Well the sponsor might get more haters than positive attention after this.
Entertainment goes hand in hand with top tier players clashing. With this uneven skilldistribution, certain players will almost be guaranteed a free pass to R2. Obviously not fair when you consider the prize at hand.
I can see how you wish to focus this on american players as the sponsor is, as far as I know american, and it`s going to be hosted on the US server. With this in mind, excluding Nony seems awfully, awfully wrong.
as a sidenote, great by the sponsor raising such a hefty cash prize. gg

Did QXC get invited?
He was so good and I really enjoyed his games in smuft =)

I would love to see Orb vs. Idra. It would be a "rage" war! See who rages the most!

A really nice pool of players. Can't wait to see how this plays out with patch 8 out.

out of curiousity, who are you calling low-skilled?

So cool to see all these sponsors take notice and show up to support the beta tournaments, hopefully the advertisements will make a significant impact so other big name sponsors start to join in.
Sony in 2012 :p

i think Gretorp deserves an invite.

ps: a lot of ppl on this i agree with but few dont even deserve to be considered becuz there just going to get romped
It's an invitational. The point of it is to invite the people they want as they're the ones hosting it. Play more open tournaments or start streaming and make a name for yourself if you want to be included. Complaining about how it's unfair that you aren't in is probably not the best way to go about it.
Like the players involved so far. I'll definitely tune in!

Good luck with the tournament! Just ignore people that are angry their fav. player wasn't invited. I got the same shit for when I did the JSI. It's YOUR invite tournament. So don't feel pressured. Same for me with SSI -.- Even had accusations of American favouritism when 1) I am not American and 2) I had the Australians placed to play IdrA in the first AND second rounds...
Agree with OHSHIFT and Sc2GGRise people need to stop complaining about invitationals, make a topic where you have polls about what you want to see in invitationals or something man. It's a great way to reward the players who give so much to the community through their streams or replays or whatever.

Updated the rules and we'll have some player updates soon.

i think its more based on player skill
