People whine about the technical issues or the VODs or whatever, but for a two-person team, this was completely understandable and the tournament was really well-run. Plus, the prize pool was huge, so props for that. One other source of complaints I want to address in more detail: HD and Husky know the builds and strategies more than well enough to be commentating these games, so lay off with the complaints that they lack the requisite knowledge, and all the tortured cries for Day[9] or whoever else to step in. Seriously, to presume that HD and Husky don’t deserve to cast these games—games they themselves made happen in the first place—is pretty insulting. What annoys me is how someone will say that they are bad commentators focusing in one a few select instances or calls made (“omg can’t believe they missed _______!”) ignoring two things: 1. That all commentators make wrong calls (yes, even Day[9], whom I watch regularly as well, occasionally misses things on the map or guesses wrong on builds and things of that nature)—it’s the nature of live commentary to offer guesses and conjectures, many of which can turn out to be wrong. Commentating is inherently selective in where the commentator chooses to put emphasis. 2. That during the other 99.9% of the casting, HD and Husky are achieving a really remarkable flow and coverage of the games. Seriously, there are people commentating for a living in professional sports with much more experience that do way worse of a job than these two do. If you haven’t tried before, it’s really, really hard to provide continuous commentary in real time, especially as smoothly as HD and Husky do. Just because you noticed one little thing they didn’t doesn’t mean they are “bad commentators.” Make the observation politely as a constructive criticism, but don’t get histrionic about how you just can’t stand to listen without [insert your brand-loyalty preference of commentator]’s stamp on the games. Moving on, just one technical detail with the replay viewer that I want to bring to HD and Husky’s attention for their casting—the harvester counter lags a lot, so if someone loses a lot of workers suddenly, and you check the harvester counter, it actually won’t update for quite a few seconds. In spoilers, because the following is an example from game #2 of TLO/NonY: + Show Spoiler + After some banelings took out a lot of NonY’s probes, HD checked the harvester counter which read 19, but after it updated maybe 10-15 seconds later, NonY actually only had 9 probes following that particular attack. Anyway, thanks again for organizing this tournament and for your work with SC2. Looking forward to the new stuff. HD and Husky: if you need any music stuff for any future projects, I’d like to offer my help, so I hope you put out a call for contributions like you do with the art stuff, unless you already are hooked in with a really slick music producer already and happy with that already.

Check that out for a prime example of some of Day9s cast. I'm not knocking on him or anything... It's just.... can you really call that better? I think the people complaining are just being impatient 9 year olds. You are complaining about upload time and this and that when it's not like they are blizzard employees who give ETAs. Oh wait... Blizzard gives out horrible ETAs anyways. Go figure. People say oh he has this much analysis or this much this and that. There's a reason why Husky and HD continue to get more views and subscribers. It's because they are more able to relate with people not already informed about the starcraft pro scene. IF there is something to criticize, I wanna see the APM meter of the pros a bit more. That's always something I like to wow about. lol
