If 10 forcefields is all it takes to completely crush IdrA, then perhaps he isn't that great a player.

Sure:
The replays were from pre patch 13 and those replays can't be watched because of the patch 13 settings... so until Blizzard releases a patch that allows us to watch older replays, we can't watch the games

Oh, the irony: Sen beat White-Ra on EVERY map that IdrA lost on, but lost on LT (the map that IdrA won on) and Scrap Station (which was never played here).
wow that's really interesting maybe white-ra looked at those matches and decided he needed to change the way he plays there, while idra took a look at those matches and expected the same style. Cant remember though how exactly white-ra played in the matches vs sen.
I honestly wasn’t excited at all, I just wanted to see theLittleOne and thought it would be boring. I was so wrong. Both players were incredible.
Congratulations Husky and HD, great first tournament. I’ve done some things to support you.
- Subscribed to both your channels. - Downloaded Irip and wrote them and said thanks for supporting HDH. - Wrote Blizzard (hope you don’t get in trouble because of it) - Wrote YouTube about partnership - Contacted Coca-Cola, NVIDIA, AMD and HP about sponsoring you
My girlfriend heard your cast, she is not a fan of SC2, but she said she will have dreams/nightmares about your voices.

About IdrA quitting kinda too quickly in a couple of the last games, I think he was being too nervous. At least in one of those games he still had some viable options. Almost like he lost interest to push to his best, after some point, which was a bit frustrating to watch - could have been more fighting.
From the RO4 up to now, I mostly liked the third game WhiteRa-TLO; that was one epic game. And the most epic moment in the tournament remains:
Thanks Husky&HDsc and thanks IRIP for organizing all this so well.
A massive thanks to HD and Husky for this amazing tournament! With a bit of luck Blizz will sort out a way to watch previous patch replays without crashing so we can see how the Nony vs TLO ended up!
Also if you want to QQ about "imba" without firm facts here is a link to the Blizz forums There are plenty of other clueless idiots you guys can argue with there. Please don't turn TL into Elitistjerks 2.0.

This was a prerecorded cast.
How has that any relevance to the stability of the stream?

According to TL's calendar, Sen vs. White-Ra was played on Thursday, while I think IdrA vs. White-Ra was played on Wednesday. From what I remember, White-Ra basically used the exact same strategies as he did against IdrA because hey, they worked. Unless IdrA showed his replays to Sen, I don't think Sen could've prepared specific counter-builds in advance. In any case, he didn't seem to (unlike his games vs. TLO where he obviously came up with a strat to counter the fast mech play on LT)

I have to say though, that HD and husky could be a bit more respectful towards the players. They talked a lot about IdrA's "rage quit", although he only did that one game. Rest of the time he was acting rather graciously, yet it was called "rage quitting" again in the last game.
Commentators can be biased as well, sure, but they seemed to thrive on IdrA's misfortune.
Apparently you've never heard of Idra before, and what he's best known for:
Being really good at StarCraft, and being incredibly bad-mannered. It was incredibly surprising to EVERYONE that he announced "gg" before leaving the first, third, and fourth games he lost to WhiteRa. He almost never does that. He's traditionally known for whining about losses and certain builds (like cheeses/rushes) and simply leaving games without telling his opponent "gg". Everyone busts him for it, because it's not a good-mannered thing to do. That doesn't make him a bad player (obviously), but he deserves to be made fun of when he portrays bad manners 99% of the time. He has a reputation.
Yeah, I know IdrA. I have followed the sc scene for 5+ years.
He deserves to be made fun of? Perhabs, but not when he is behaving pretty well. Shouldn't you encourage people when they improve on bad behavior? I would say so. If you treat him equally when he is mannered and when he is not, why should he improve?
Well, I guess he might not care, I still think we should give credit where it's due, and certainly commentators should be expected to behave somewhat professionally.
I think that commentators should be able to commentate games... so if that's what you mean by "somewhat professionally", then sure. HD and Husky both behave "somewhat professionally" in my opinion... and I'm not surprised at all that they pointed out when Idra pulled *an Idra* by being bad-mannered. That's his stereotype.
And as far as positive reinforcement goes... come on now, Idra isn't a six year old. He can be bad-mannered if he wants, but he's simply not going to get as much respect. People consider him to be a douchebag because he's a bm player. I don't think he cares about that reputation (or else he'd "gg" all the time), but it's going to reflect negatively on him.
I just think he's gotten to the point where everyone's completely surprised if he does anything remotely standard (like saying "gg"). We'd piss ourselves if he ever said "Nice job"; and we'd announce it too... because that's Idra's reputation. I don't think it's a commentator's job to IGNORE the traits of the players; if anything, they should also point out why each player is unique.
You're right that positive reinforcement is unneeded. He is a grown man. I just appreciated how he conducted himself in these series, but I understand that's a personal thing.
Oh, and I don't think they were wrong to call "rage quit!" on the occation where he did rage quit. I just felt they kept on mentioning it.
I guess I just like a more corteous style in commentating.

You're absolutely right, and that is kinda funny to think about ^^

#1 Idra seemed way more in control of his anger than usually, so props to him for that.
Idra doesn't seem to get angry when losing against players he actually respects. To be fair to him, there's so few players at his skill level right now that he has a right to be angry at something when he loses to 99% of players right now, even those participating in tournaments. White-ra is someone he even didn't seem to mind in bw so i'm sure that's the main reason.

I guess maybe it appeared to be a bit over-the-top to harp on him because there's never anything overly-interesting about the way any other player leaves the game. If WhiteRa or TLO did a ragequit, there would be a pretty big explosion of craziness as well... and then, once in a while, people would be like "I wonder if Player X is gonna ragequit again... I thought he was so good-mannered but THEN blah blah blah".
People love to watch the streams, and it's extra-awesome to be able to see the reactions of the players... and that's epitomized through a ragequit. That's why we LOVE watching Idra (besides the fact that he's an awesome player), and we love to point out the lack of "gg" (even if he occasionally displays good manners) It elicits more emotion... it's like rooting for the bad guy AND watching the MSL/OSL winner cry and hug his mom at the SAME TIME!
First of all, thank you Husky and HD for hosting what proven to be a pretty entertaining and fun to watch tournament. Also, great job to all the players. Overall, it was a good experience, however...
First off, if you're going to take this seriously - please try to prepare yourself a bit better. You've had huge issues with the streaming setup and whatnot in the first few rounds which is fine for your first tournament but not so much assuming the magnitude and prizes. Especially on the livecasting bids, a thumbs down for both of you.
The commentary was decent for the most part (ok, I might be spoiled after listening to a lot of Day9) but there were areas and matchups where you were blatantly oblivious as far as the strategies go. I completely understand it's a lot of information to know, especially from being still in beta - but again, if you're really serious about this then take some time and read up, even ask people. I'm pretty sure that if you shrug off your pride and ask the pro's (any top level player) they can give you a few hints on what to check, usual strategies etc on any matchup they're familiar with.
What really pushed my buttons and made me write up this post (I would probably not have bothered otherwise) was this little thing I SSed here,
Transcript here. I replaced "You" with "HDsc" as he was streaming/recording. WhiteRa has disconnected from the lobby HDsc: lol IdrA: or not ukraine to us must be even worse than kor to us Husky: they just got internet in his country I think IdrA: have to pay extra for the kind that works
I'm not sure if that was all, can't remember right now - but it's all I got screened. Way to go!
