theres a reason you win 60% ladder games. your builds let you win games vs good players, but also cause you to lose to newbies cuz theyre luck based allins that entirely remove skill from the equation. ya you win games here and there. so does octzerg. you're still trash.

So what you're trying to say is you don't know how to play? ^-^

badsmcgee is a solid plat player improving very quickly, not sure if he has been at a "top" level yet, if this is a problem we can replace him with nMn.Ming.

you might be among the best Idra cuz u play massively, but artosis and inc are not any better than many of the other players we've picked, so it could be close, good luck still

lol could be close

Team media has like 5% chance to win this, they are significantly weaker than other teams imo. It just depends who you pick but one player can't all kill every round.

each team has 50% chance to win actually, either they win, or they don't!

so if I played headsup poker with you, I would have a 50% chance to win? or a team of 3 bronze players entering?

imo Artosis and incontrol definitely don't help their chances and Idra has some fundamental problems with reacting/adapting, if you pick #1 players and people with some prior results (not too important atm) I would give team media a low probability to win, somewhere around 5-10%. There are a lot of other factors like map pool, when map pool is decided, etc. The later the map pool is decided, assuming the maps are balanced, it gives Idra the advantage. If you choose the map pool earlier people can come up with more map specific strategies to tilt Idra. If the map pool favors terran it also lowers their chances more as they only have Artosis to play T.

If you ignore the variables such as player skill, and think of each game as a coin flip, you are right. It would be like saying the odds to win a hand preflop is 50% with Ace Ace, because you ignore the cards in each players hand. You have to take into account a hazy guess of player skill.

Depending on who you invite my % to win would be
33% root gaming
32% team quebec
25% team EG
10% media

Chance can be expressed either as a probability or as odds. In most contexts, there is no particular reason to prefer one over the other. Most scientists tend to feel more comfortable thinking about probabilities than odds, but that is a matter of training and custom, not logic.

The distinction is simple:

* The probability that an event will occur is the fraction of times you expect to see that event in many trials. Probabilities always range between 0 and 1.
* The odds are defined as the probability that the event will occur divided by the probability that the event will not occur.

This tournament is a clever ruse so that Fayth can steal Idra build order and strategies. Have the decency to pay the man directly for training.

There is a lot of good entries for this tournament and it's pretty tough to narrow it down to 4. I'm sure a lot of people will be disappointed but I'm also hoping that this can become a weekly thing so if your team doesn't get picked this week then you may be picked the following week.

We'll be choosing the top 4 teams tonight and finalizing the rest of the details which will all be posted here by 1pm PST tomorrow as scheduled.
