It seems rather interesting, and most ppl seem to recommend it when I say I use the grid layout with a few remappings for ctrl groups to capslock, etc ... OK Guys, so ... I did some testing on how the mapping of the keys in the in-game hotkey editor mapped the keys to their text equivalent in the *.SC2Hotkeys files and it seems that, other than mislabeling the keys due to the different key positioning, the Portuguese and the Brazilian Portuguese (ABNT2) layouts are mostly compatible as far as theCore is concerned. The only caveat I could find is the fact that the ABNT2 kayout has an extra key for ?/ in the right hand side of the alphanumeric part of the keyboard that is a dead-key in as far as SC2 is concerned. I'll post any anomalies I find ... but it seems all is working fine! (Posting this in the hope that it may help others with the same doubt in the future ...)

"Add to Control Group" is far less versatile than "Add to Control Group and Steal": using add+steal makes sure that units/buildings are in one group only. Therefore Add+Steal is mapped on Control+#group. "Add to Control Group" is not supposed to be used with TheCore In TheCore, thumb is used to press modifiers (Shift/Control/…) with tilted keyboard There is an active Discord group around TheCore, where you can find cool guys to answer your questions, here is an invite: https://discord.gg/wxDWeP

For those who don't know, most of older videos on this video channel as still pretty valid: https://www.youtube.com/user/TutorialCentralSc2 One of the greatest on-line resources about SC2 for guys getting into this game, unfortunately not known as deserved considering the amount of video views

Both is great. IIRC in one newer of Jakataks hotkey builds (core?) you can also simply "add" to control group.. because sometimes you want to use it! For example having main army at 1, but then (for instance) having banelings on 2 which are also at 1. And sometimes even an extra split group at 3 (all still at 1). Same with queens for me at least, and buildings.. generaly said, it is (sometimes) much better to not steal! I was certainly missing simple "add" when trying core.. Believe my I tried it dedicatedly. For instance with terran production: 4 for all the buildings rally points... but 5 and 6 for factories starports respectively in addition for faster single production. I personally use all the options but with different modifiers... so I am using add to control group and I am using steal from control group, both are pretty useful. There are also less accidents when you don't have steal for everything you do... I can exactly decide when and what to steal, and what to simple-add. Both is convenient to do... But of course up to each's personal preference. To Conclude IMO: When you remove yourself "add to group", you are disabling yourself as much as not using "steal", both add to your game play. So it is as suboptimal to say "you don't need simple-add to group" as saying, "you don't need steal" at least as a hint to someone. - - - @viewers I think jakatak has plenty of viewers, at sc2 peak I saw hundred thousands of viewers at some videos etc. and private customers. I seen some of his videos back then, but I never dwelved into mass watching. TBH there was too much sc2 content.. I was more into watching a pro-match, tbh, or just experimenting myself/playing a bit (nothing serious). I don't want to make evaluations or assumptions here, he is also talking to people at content (youtube). and he streams. Overall great no doubt, nothing to criticize. If anything people prefer different content... some people prefer less compact content and a 30 minute video of entertainment, but I find it cool jakatak sticks to his roots and does videos how and what he wants, like those core keyboard setups, even doing a new series atm learning himself with the viewer - I pull my hat. @bobo38 I am often wondering which videos are still up to date, because so many of them "don't work" anymore.... I have recently tried quite a bit... So it's maybe quite turning off (other) people who see the videos and then it doesn't work, you go to another channel. Of course you can look at the date. For instance quite a nice one was the many tricks with smart commands. However today I am trying those, and can't make it work anymore, I don't know what blizzard changed. I asked around here in the forums, not much discussion about it. Let alone a helpful answer. (you can see my post history if interested). So because I think the least people play sc2 that consistently to having followed each patch note and the changes - there needs to be more updates on what is outdated = cool retro content, and what is still useful, or somewhat. That being said, alot of those are really cool indeed. I think this year I watched the one with queens in overlords putting creep tumors on the enemy expansions and then you let the overlord "be responsible". Hilarious and it works well !, I played that this year, however generally actually not as good anymore now a days since you need to upgrade each single overlord first (which is even more micro now - or more so the waiting time until the ovi upgrades).

(i needed 6 months to understand all details of this one 5:53 minutes video, and I'd been already playing SC2 for 1-2 years, only 38k views) For TheCoreLite it's there: on Control+Alt. But single modifier Control is for the add/steal which is easier for almost all aspects. Any SC2 content related to meta will of course decay over time. Tutorial central has a lot of game UI (game settings, group ergonomics, fun facts etc…) and general approach content (TheStaircase) that are still valid, really well done. Of course some portion of video (like the one about injection) could be no longer valid (RapidFire inject no longer possible since LoTV release). This video related to injection is still one of the most synthetic summary about UI aspects of injection I hope that it made my point clearer to you

bobo38 nice. I will watch it, when I got some time. Rapid Fire injection - hah sounds OP :O I understand your point clearer already, thanks! maybe just give the video to new players, too? I think I frequently meet "new" players online that I sometimes play a couple of training games with, however there are too many sc2 content I lost overview/track of - ones that are concise... ... That being said how you describe it, it sounds quite concise: so I will bookmark it. thanks!

Overlord is now on ';', but select larva is not. That's because "morph lair/hive" is also on ';'. So this means to build overlord the sequence is: 0 (select hatches) => J (select larva) => ; (build overlords). However... if I have no larva, this morphs my hatcheries into lairs. This prevents me from holding the overlord key down like I used to (I was on v3 before this), and it means I have to make the full sequence: 0 (select hatches) => Look at larva count to make sure not 0 => J (select larva) => ; (build overlords) This is quite painful for such a common task - am I doing something wrong? It used to be Viper that was shared with upgrade Lair/Hive and that wasn't so bad because vipers were generally at the point in the game where I'm floating in larva, and I don't build very many of them.
