I switched to Zerg early in 2012 and was stuck in Silver and Gold from that time until now. A year stuck in Silver and Gold and then 5 weeks being coached by TheJaKaTaK, using The Core, and using The Staircase and I'm into Platinum. If you are thinking about doing this and want to move up the ladder, go for it. It works! Now that StudlyBob has graduated, we're looking for the next Zerg StuffLeaguer. If you're stuck in Bronze, Silver, or Gold; if you are a zerg player; and if you are willing to commit one hour every week (on a Monday or Wednesday) starting at 5pm PST.
