[G] Master Terran - Strong Team League BOs: TP, TZ.

Hello All, I wanted to share some of my Team Builds that I use when playing Random Teams on 3v3 or 4v4 and also Arranged Teams for 2v2. My hope is that you will be able to use these builds and achieve success in 2v2 Arranged Teams, as well as 3v3 and 4v4 Random Teams.

I am an All Masters player with about 5:1 win/loss ratio in 3v3 and 4v4 in Random Teams, as well as a 5:1 win/loss ratio in 2v2 Arranged Teams.

I need to try some of these when I play with my friends. I always feel like terran doesn't have much of an early game rush besides 2 rax but I forgot about reapers and hellions. Awesome stuff I don't see enough team league things but I think it has potential.

For the fast hellion build can I ask why you build your gas on 10 and your rax on 14? I do pretty much the same build, but with gas on 11 and rax on 13 and my OC/fact/reactor/depot on 16. I find the build flows quite nicely with those timings.

I realise this is only a minor difference, but I am interested in why you go with your timings over the timings I have.

I agree with mastermind. Master terran in 1v1/3v3 (and 2v2 before reset)... I go

11gas
13rax (only works if you stack scvs on close minerals or you dont use scv to scout, else you wait a couple seconds before you can start up scv production again)
put 3 total scvs on gas when you start the rax. it delays your reactor a bit but you really need 3 helions to one shot, so build one helion and then swap so you end up with 3 helions later

Actually when I do it I am able to have the reactor and the factory finish at approximately the same time so you can start double production right away. I should note that I never scout when doing this build, I leave that up to my team mates.

@ Mastermind. I believe this was the particular build I used for the First replay, where the Rax timing was slightly off such that I could grab an extra SCV before the OC. This was, of course, the replay on which I based the Written build. But you are right. After reviewing other games, I generally go 13 Rax to 16 OC, although I do grab my gas at 10. I will make this change.

@ Iconoclast The reaper build is a lot of fun and def. worth using in PP, TT and TP.

@ finesthour Great. I hope you are able to use these builds

@ assland This build has no delays in reactor or factory and there is never a shortage of gas if you gas 10. For this reason, it is an improvement over gas 11 for a seamless build.

As for the fast reaper build, why not expand behind the first few reapers? Surely you can fit in a CC somewhere instead of adding a fourth rax at 24.
There is no such thing is "e-sports". There is Brood War, and then there is crap for nerds.

Shady, expanding behind reapers is a great idea and can def. be done. In some games, I wil bunker up and we can both fast expand. The reaper build really immobilizes your opponents and allows you to dictate play

Alaz, I hit with the first 2 reapers immediately since they come out exactly the same time as the 2 stalkers. My partner will attack the front of the base while I prod the back. If the toss is only blocking with1 zealot/sentry, reapers do very well against both of those units

Thanks for this guide, I love your reaper build!

Concerning the hellion build, how do you transition? All your replays were <9 min, but if the game goes on longer, do you go for a dual starport?

Godolin, no problem glad I could hlep.

As for the hellion build, I transition to cloak banshee with 2 starports, taking the second gas as soon as money permits. I also try to expand and either go mass mm with stim and medivacs or a banshee/tank/thor/hellion combo. Just lift the reactor factory and make a tech lab with it to produce thors. (And armory of coruse). Use the rax for the reactor.

I also tend to wall my front with depots and a bunker or 2 just in case the opponents are able to muster a force of marauders or roaches. With 2 bunkers repairing, banshees and thors coming you can defend multiple attacks and continue pressure.

TheAntZ, haha yes these are fun 2v2 builds and I'd like to add that the reaper build does not sacrifice any macro as I'm more of a macro player. From watching replays I've noticed that if the strategy doesn't win the game outright, it has at least put one opponent down several probes/scvs and my partner and I are well ahead from this point. (We are also able to expand more quickly and contain our opponents, since they have to guard their mineral line from a possible 6+ reapers.
