Great game, turned ZvT into almost a TvT with the "fight for every inch" warfare. Not researching drop to bother his expans probably hurt the most as he got two free expans with almost no defense for a large part of the game. Admittedly, there were few times 200/200 could be spared. Speaking of which, seemed like great resource management from Midian from an amateur's POV.

This game also reminds me of why I always reinforce expans with a sunk and lurk whenever possible. Dropships are a biatch!

J/k actually its a very gg and jamie did some nice jju tactics with lurker stall :D Anytime a z does well on requiem its worth a watch imo.

long and epic game, but i must say i didn't really like it. Z trying to bruteforce the win with pure hyd/lurk, but only 1/1 in upgrades until almost 40:00. rines were only 1/1 too, what a nice slaughtering we could have seen

also dark swarm or attack on the expo with drop or guards would have been pretty devastating imho

Yes, you can tell Midian's econ is severely stressed for almost all the endgame and that doesn't leave much room for teching. In the last 15+ minutes if he had gone hive the game could have ended on the spot with T winner.

Twisted because MidiaN is good doesnt mean he cant play better or that whatever he is doing cant be commented by other people.I asked because I was curious. SO yea explain to me why swarm is soooooo useless in your pov. Swarm is a must nowadays and if he indeed had swarm the game would have had a totally drifferent play.

I got a question, why was midian constantly running away from battles he couldve easily won(I think?), like at some point in the middle of the game sadist had a miniscule force compared to midian (12 lurks, 2-3 groups of hydra) but slowly pushed across the map (building up his force) picking off so many of midians units along the way.

I overrated his army once or twice I guess, I thought I had too little because I was trying to re establish my economy, thus I figured I was low on units in comparison to him. Therefore I was intent on buying time rather than engaging, and most of the time I did have the smaller army but there were cases when I could've won, yes. And as for the swarm issue, it wasn't possible to tech because doing so costs resources and time, you can't just instantly acquire swarm free of charge, I would've had to sacrifice a lot of units to get swarm, and in doing so I would've got run over. Bigger mistakes came early in the game, not anticipating the cloaked wraiths, because I figured my tech was very fast in relation to his, thus I thought he'd abandon the wraiths and go 3 rax when he saw my spire so fast, hence I made lurker tech pretty soon and abandoned muta/scourge rather early myself, and skipped overlord speed. Basically I was operating on assumptions the whole game, many of which were logical, but ultimately incorrect.

I was gonna say about the same as midian just did, so read his explanation why he didn't get swarm.

To put it simple if you're lazy: he didn't have the resources or time to tech to swarm, his mistake was to not anticipate correctly to sadists wraiths. That caused him to get way behind. He also got hydra range and speed, so he needs to spend all money in hydra/lurk. If he had gotten lurk/ling (which is more costeffective but more risky), he could've gotten swarm.

edit: to respond to your question about wether it's fine to ask questions: yes it is. But what you posted wasn't a question, it was a way of saying: if midian teched to defiler+swarm he would've won for sure, which he wouldn't. If he had teched to defiler+swarm, he would've lost, because there would be no way to keep his expands, and he would just get overrun.

Why did you expo to both the 6 and 12 nat instead of taking your gas island (there was probably a reason I dont know, like needing to keep your army in the center and fearing drops or something)?

I enjoyed that game tho!
