As with the previous cast, we are always concerned about the quality of our show.

Please leave any feedback or problems you experienced in this thread so we can make future shows better.

Thanks a lot

Chill and Artosis work together really nicely, great cast once again. I disagreed with most of what they said in the TvP series (Brat was never really behind, Dreiven's eco management was really bad) but it was entertaining to listen to nontheless.
On a purely personal note, I'd like to show Yellow the beauty of infinitely repeating Starcraft 2 bunkers. -Boxer

Apart from the fact that you always use the same background songs during map-previews etc and that the stream always crashes once during the first 5 minutes of the cast, nothing was wrong -- flawless ! :>

The stream just died once today and ran perfectly throughout the entire show, and as usual the rest was just great.

Hot_Bid did a great job observing as well <3

I think a random tasteless intro would be great.

Imagine the confusion and chaos!

I think it was the best casting setup yet. Good job all

Was pretty good show today, as always it was very enjoyable and exciting. At the start the stream died, but was quickly fixed. One thing that I noticed was was that when the picture would change to a player's stats/background information the audio would freeze up for a second; I don't know if that was just me or a universal problem.

We miss you Manifesto or rather a 3rd caster . Can we get a comedian for a 3rd caster?

Overall, it was great as usual.

Yeah, fixing that audio problem is only possible with about $100k of computer and encoding equipment.

I really loved todays broadcast. No lag, the comentators were dead on with the strats and the games themselves were crazy intensive. Good job TSL !

Excellent stuff. Was drinking White Russians in tribute to BRAT_OK, and he won, so I guess it worked

Looking forward to Nony tomorrow, a little peeved that Draco advanced again (I really don't like his attitude, not practicing to show us his best for this most prestigious of tournaments).

GGs, good casting, Artosis and Chill are great, and it's always nice to hear Mani on the stream

No problems for me. Thank you guys, and thanks to Razer. I realize that 3 commentators are many, but I think the others (vaul, yannis...) do deserve some screen time, too...

Thanks again.

I never got the stream to work, whether it was from the TL razer website, VLC, or GOM player. It worked fine last week, so I don't know. Probably just a problem on my end.

I wish the in game volume was closer to the level of the caster's volume (like the sound levels in pro games). Right now it is really low. Everything else was butter!

I have a 512kbit/s internet connection and the stream was perfect for me last week - I watched all the games and experienced no lag at all

This time however I had lags every 5 seconds or so, T.T

Solid broadcast.

I know I say this after every broadcast but listen to the in-game sounds/music of any OGN or MBC broadcast and then listen to ours. I feel our gamesounds/music is far too weak compared to the commentary.

With that said, I think the sound balance was waaay better this time than before. Nice to see the improvements week to week

I just saw some of the VODs uploaded by nevake.

You guys are truly amazing.
Everything about it was amazing. The commentators, game quality, TSL intro...made it look like I'm watching MSL or OSL.

Props ^^ and keep up the good work

Is that a "GG Bot" that types out gg at the end of every replay? Didn't notice him in the earlier rounds.

I guess some people were getting confused by the lack of banter at the end of the game eh

As a personal preference I think it would make you sound much more professional if you introduced yourselves by name rather than nick. Like Jon "Sp1ralArch1tect" Benn or Jon Benn better known as Sp1ralArch1tec to all of you. Dunno if it really makes a diff but for people watchin who have never really seen SC or been involved online its gotta be weird to here "This is Manifesto7, Artosis and Chill".

Just my two cents, not really a complaint more of a idea:D

I agree with you. It will add another drop of professionalism to it all
As for the stream, up until the first game between Draco and Ra was finished, it was lagging so hard that it was unwatchable for me. Last week it worked fine.
After game 3 though, it started and it worked perfectly until the end.

Thank you TeamLiquid!!!<3<3<3

The stream was absolutely amazing, apart from the crash after 5 minutes, I had no lag at all. The commentary is very very very very good and the games were entertaining. I'm sad the beast of the east is out, but other than that it was a perfect night.

Nope, that was just me adding a gg at the end. Some people thought it was lacking, so I thought I would try it.

I disagree. I have always hated it when Ive seen my real name attached to my nick. Even if the people watching dont play much bw, they are still gamers and refer to themselves and others by nicks.

Hmm i see what your saying and i know most people gonna get who you and chill are and whatnot. Just sounds a bit more professional, like im sure that Garimto introduces him self as name "Garimto" name. Rather than just as Garimto old school protoss bad ass mofo.

Like I said this doesnt even really matter just a suggestion!

iirc i found the ingame sound effects too quiet (or the commentator voices too loud, take your pick). they are important for immersion etc

I'd like to see a better font for the display in-game, the one you're using now doesnt really fit that well.

And don't! have pauses, there's already 2-4 minutes between each match when you're just talking about the match or the next match when people can do their business.

Also I thought Manlyfesto's voice was a bit too quiet this time. Maybe crank it up just 1 or 2 volumes higher? (The intro, Artosis, and Chill's voice were perfectly sync'ed, though)

Could you add empty folders if a match only goes up to game 3 next time you upload the VODs?

after seeing BRAT_OK win game 1 i knew that he'd take the match because there are only 3 subfolders in "02 - BRAT_OK vs Dreiven"

for the rest, the games were great and so were the commentaries. Thanks a lot for your efforts!

I can clearly see the additional subfolders in my torrent client (utorrent)..., it even has the .asf files for game 4 and 5.

Casting duo is the best duo you can find and it works perfect. I had the idea that the third guy (who made the little summary, was it manifesto?)'s voice was a little softer. The intro music was levelled I think. Allthough by me adjusting the level to the softer caster, the intro music became a tad too loud again.

Allthough Adding Klazart in the mix would make it all a little more exciting and fun. I love his anologies.

VLC works fine, the site never worked for me. Maybe because I dont have the latest WMP? But i'm not gonna put that piece of crap on this little baby. Oh, and you have only blue tile-set maps, from wich 80% is the twilight. That is not cool.

edit:

I too as many others like Artosis+Chill, both very good commentators. I also know it's hard not to get abit repetative when talking for a long time, but some things that are mentioned gets repeated ALOT, and when they are going back and forth on how they think one of the players played it out, and ask for feedback, you can almost always expect a "Indeed" after, even in cases that you would feel that one of the commentators was abit off and the other would disagree. As if it just goes by the flow (I wonder if I make sense here...)

A good example was Drieven vs Brat, as someone else mentioned Brat was never really behind in any way in game one and all the time it felt like he was on the brink of death when listening to the commentating, while in fact Dreiven was almost put in a all in situation where he choose a big army with weak eco and he killed his own army walking into a qwazillion tanks and then got slowly pushed back into GG.

I'm a happy camper, I love the TSL and I love the commentating, but since you are asking for some feedback, I guess what I'm trying to forward here is that (even though I'm sure this comes with experience) the commentators should perhaps consider diffrent wordmixes to not get too repetative and to keep the audience awake even more.

The tech difficulties was np, last nights death was the one and only early on and then it was just great throughout *thumbs up!*

I am watching Day 4 right now using VLC on my Apple laptop. In the other room my PC desktop is running the stream natively in WMP through the razertsl website. Both working perfectly. No problems with either.

Last weekend I downloaded the VODs and there were 0 problems with that.

As far as the commentary, I am loving it. Chill/Artosis are working really well together and I think 2 commentators are(is?) the right number, no one steps on anyone else's toes, which happened a few times with 3 commentators last weekend.

You guys crack me up.

+ Show Spoiler +
For example, the extended discussion of Dreiven's lack of pre-game BBQ had me rolling.

Just can't say enough about it. I am showing this to several of my friends who have never been interested in StarCraft and they are asking me to give them a copy. Easily available english commentary allows me to let Artosis/Chill explain why it is such a great game much better than I ever could.
Im tired of following my dreams, man. Im just going to ask them where theyre going and hook up with them later. -mh

Just after the first match, I've noticed Hot_bid is extremely good at catching the action (more so than Kennigit) and focuses on the right things (in my opinion) like battles or the early scouting probe or storm drops, etc.

I can clearly see the additional subfolders in my torrent client (utorrent)..., it even has the .asf files for game 4 and 5.

Everything is going great today, this comment is directed at Artosis and Chill.

Could we please stop calling dt harass the Bisu build? It isnt his build he just beat savior with it, you can find vods and reps of ra, reach, and tons of other old school toss using that buildin PvZ. yeah he made it popular again and used it to adapt to the savior style macro, it just really irks me to hear "Bisu Build" for some reason.

Anyway this in no way put a damper on the TSL GREAT JOB!

I've been watching the last few TSL days, and all I can say is, the whole thing looks and feels very professional. That really is the best adjective I have for it: I feel like I'm watching OGN except that I actually understand what's being said.

At first I thought it was a drawback that the games weren't actually live. But now I think I may actually prefer the way things are being done now: the commentators don't know how many games there are, who won, or how far the replay has progressed (I'm assuming...?) and so they commentate everything as if it's live, but with the added benefits of being able to see what people are upgrading, etc.

day 4:

hot_bid was really on top of things while obsing

artosis + chill combo = godly. seriously, both of these guys were really great today, and i like having two. with 3, one person usually doesnt talk as much, and the others would usually try to prompt the others, moreover than needed

also, im listening to the interview with nony right now. more of these! these are great.

My biggest lol:

Chill: That probe will be dancing in heaven now, as it gets taken out by zerglings
Artosis: First of all, probes don't go to heaven, because they are robots.

Great work guys, keep it up!

Hey, great job guys. I think it's wonderful to have you guys casting. Really awesome.

I just had one annoyance -- do you guys watch the same screen we're watching? Commentators miss so many things that we as viewers can see through the stream. When I see some reaver drop going on but commentators miss it, I'm like REAVAA REAVAA!

Also, the background music is always Terran Should be one of the races being played.

Thanks for everything though.

No, they do not watch the same screen. Hot_Bid (Kennigit last week) is the game/replay/video host, his view is the one that is being used for the stream. The casters can move around as they want. Personally I think this actually adds to the experience, between the casters and the video guy you can be sure that nothing gets missed

I have to say that the cameraman is doing a great job, far better than the previous one (sorry, Kennigit). The one thing he could improve on is clicking on individual units, to show their HP, especially in early game micro skirmishes. But, that's just what I saw in day 1 of round 8, I haven't seen day 2 yet. Great job, keep it up!

I love the commentary, but I DO have one complaint. This MAY not be something that CAN be fixed, but I HAVE noticed that Artosis DOES put a somewhat annoying emphasis on certain transitive verbs. He DOES have a lot of interesting things to say, but the emphasis for no reason CAN get annoying sometimes.

Haha, I completely agree. Artosis is the most knowledgeable sc commentator I've ever heard, but this is one thing he can improve on. Still, it is bearable because of the interesting insight he always provides.

Hey.

I've been watching the Small Vods lately (I've been busy so I didn't watch the whole thing and whatnot)
but...
Is it possible to have the Starcraft:bw music and the Commentary playing together?

I know it's a small detail but I like how there is the Brood War music when the Korean commentators are talking. It adds to the atmosphere imo.

Anyway, thanks.

Agreed. I have to say though, Chill is my favorite. He always has great information about strategy, and seems to have insight from the players about the maps. It's hard to explain what it is about the way he commentates that makes it great though. His degree of excitement always seems to match exactly what's going on in the game, and he always seems interested in the same things I am about what's going on.

I also have noticed it and also think that this just add to experience. All what we see is just a small part of the match, and it's pretty nice to here about what's going on in some other places, this way we get much more informations.

My only comment is that the in-game sounds should be a bit louder. Everything else is great. The casters are more enthusiastic now too, compared to earlier casts, while insight/analysis is excellent as always.

Kennigit improved a lot after criticism. So I was worried with Hotbid. But he was very good.

Chill needs to reduce on the 'uuhs'.

I do like that the commentators can move around freely so nothing gets missed and everybody can look at the details they want to talk about. But it seemed to me that while Hot_Bid listened to the others he had no way of informing them of something he spotted. I don't know how you organize that cast but couldn't you arrange it so that Hot_Bid can talk and only the other commentators hear him?
It's always weird if you seem to know more than the commentators because Hot_Bid noticed something they didn't.

Edit: Because there are so many people complaining that the in-game sounds are too low... I just wanted to say that I like it that way. ^^
Great cast btw!

WHO'S DOING THE OBSERVING NOW LOL its so much better

I would tend to disagree. Watching TSL was great fun again, but when you hear the commentators yelling "OMG! NICE STORMS, NICE STORMS!" and the screen is focused on the back of a players army which is doing the least, it really gets a bit frustrating. I think Kennigit was at least doing the battles a little better than Hot_Bid.

Of course, Kennigit has had a lot more practice, and both have done a great job regardless Just little things it'd be nice to see Hot_Bid work on if he's doing the video cast again next week.

Hot bid also picked up on a few things the casters were missing, like upgrades, new buildings, etc. I think Hot_Bid did a great job obsing. Chill and Artosis rock as well, great job overall. No lag at all, no crashes except that one at the start.

TSL should do something super ass awesome for the finals. Like, get Tasteless, Klazart (Or Diggity, or moletrap), and Chill(or Mani, Yannis, etc.)

Triple commentary, badass final set. I bet tasteless might consider. The only issue could be lag because Tasteless is in Korea and Klazart in Europe somewhere (????). But that would still be the best final commentary evarr

Agreed. I'm really enjoying it. It was just the occational (but important) battle/drop that Kennegit missed that was a little annoying. It was as if he wasn't checking out the minimap very often.

the job overall is too awesome

however if it's possible to do something to ensure a smoother stream, please do. I practically lost 3 games yesterday due to stream dying on me after 5 seconds and I had to keep restarting to get a new round of 5 seconds till it dies again T_T

True, which is why Klaz would be balanced out by someone "with more insight." I really believe that if the TSL would like some additional viewership someone like Klaz would not be a bad idea.

Chill/Artosis rule though, so it doesn't matter either way for me.

And yeah bummer about Tasteless. Would be nice if he did the finals for free, but it's his job, so I understand completely.

Artosis/Chill is the best commentating team I've ever heard by far. I'd rather have 2 amazing casters with good insight than a handful of commentators stumbling over eachother with less insightful comments.
