It was definitely later in 2010 that I started following, but I especially remember Husky casting at MLG and HuK winning against MC. I didn't know it at the time, but HuK was one of the few players to win a championship (prior to the fall of Kespa) against a strong Korean lineup.

It's honestly wild to think that it's been a whole decade of Starcraft 2, and two whole decades of Broodwar now.

Despite all that's changed in my life over those 20 years, Starcraft has always been a constant!

Started watching SC2 videos in 2017, mostly old Husky Videos and Lowkos replay casts on YT. First live game I watched was early 2018 IEM Katowice.

Dreamhack Winter 2010 final between Mana and Naama is the first competitive game I remember watching, and I kept watching ever since.

I've been watchin since the beta. TLO has been my favourite progamer back then and he played one of the first professional games that I watched. Back then I have almost exclusively watched German broadcasters, such as BodomReaper, Khaldor and later Mori. I was actually pretty late on the Korean Starcraft scene, I could only watch these 240p vids via Gom Player. I was actually more occupied playing Raynor Party than ladder

I really followed nonstop in early 2012, but had seen other stuff sporadically in 2010 and 2011

I stumbled across TBs first SanDisk invitational by accident. I had been playing the game for a while but no idea or interest in esport. That changed. Must have been 2015.

Started in the Broodwar time. But the fever never got lost. Than Wings, Heart and now Legacy. SC2 is a wonderful game!
Congrats!

Been in and out since WoL launch. I liked SC back in the BW days, but I never followed the competitive scene much, since I had other priorities and obligations, but when SC2 came out, that wasn't the case, so I got into watching a lot. Never had people interested in playing often, which demotivated me to play much more than campaign and VS AI games. I just watched competitive stuff every so often, kept up with reading news. But once LotV came out and matured by a couple years, I found people to play and chat about SC2 with so I'm back with more consistency.
Never quit. Never back down.

Been in and out since BW to be honest. There is just nothing like this game, not even a sport. I am a huge fan of hockey and because of society it's kinda hard to follow a game that nobody else play or follow but yeah Starcraft will always be in my heart

I wonder if it's the game overall or if it's just TL. I thought the games active population has increased since it went FTP.

Started following in early-mid 2011. I haven't actively followed since like 2014, but I still always enjoy coming back every now and then to see the state of the scene. This site has been my homepage since forever so I can still get updates even if I'm not actively looking for them.

Started at launch in 2010, stopped at some point during HotS. The ever-increasing emphasis on speeding up the game turned me off.

I mean no disrespect but can the option "I dont" be added to the poll? Some of us only come here to support and stay updated with Brood War. There is likely a minority that use this site for non-Starcraft purposes.

this place has been my home page for god knows how long but recently got super annoyed with the commentary of all starcraft games. i cant seem to live with the sentences or words shared/stolen from each other, said in the same manner the 'other guy' would say them and the incessant use of the word 'Right' over 5-10 times per game. An example of this would be the way pig does that artosis oooooohhh, god its cringe as fuck. as long as all of the games have a foreign broadcast (thank you crank! take, and a few others) ill still be watching.

I started playing and watching in early 2012. Husky videos and Youtube tutorials at the start until I realised the games Husky was casting were from Tournaments and wanted to put faces to the names of the players.

I didn't really know when tournaments were on, was flicking through Twitch TV and managed to catch the final of 2012 DreamHack EIZO Open: Stockholm where Thorzain won. It looked cool, but my mate talked through the whole final match and victory celebration. I remember Thorzain ecstatic and his interview with iNcontroL (love you Geoff) at that point I was determined to watch another big tourney all the way through.

Which was 2012 MLG Spring Championship, where DongRaeGu beat Alicia in the finals. I was hooked and saw every Tournament I could after that, I was especially a fan of Dreamhacks, Homestory and IEM. I suffered through Boordlord infester and Swarm hosts but still kept tuning in. In 2017 I slowed down a little but still kept up with the odd tourney or best games VODs at least, and try and catch as much as I can now.

One other thing, I'm thankful for all of the great casters over the years and the excellent crop we have currently.
