Mostly The International, I will check out WCS whenever there is downtime for TI or if there is a sick game coming up in WCS.

Exclusively TI3. WCS regional finals? Who cares, gonna VOD them later. TI3 is once a year and the esports event of this year, for sure.

I pity all the casters, hosts, crew etc. who will be contractually obligated to work during these WCS regionals, and thus will be forced to miss TI3 live. They must be pretty sad. I think some SC2 progamers will be sad about that too, having to play during TI3.

If you happen to be present at WCS regionals with a camera, please try to make photos of screens with TI3 on alt-tab of players and casters there during breaks. It could be hilarious. Like, SC2 player in semi-final 1-1, alt-tabs to watch TI3.

Only watching sc2. Didn't even know what this ti3 was until all this hype, and to be perfectly frank, don't give a shit. Never watched dota in my life, never played it, and don't plan to waste my time watching a tournament just because "zomg the hype train is streaming thru TI3 can't mizz it or ur a loser!!!!111"

I watch what I like and that's that.

Maybe a bit of WCS EU depending on who is playing, but I'm not really interested in either korean only or koreans stomping foreigners, so mostly TI 3. Not sure what Blizzard was thinking to put the events on the same weekend.

I was up in the air between Mostly TI3 and even split with WCS, it honestly depends on the WCS region, cause I'll probably watch Korea but with America it depends on how far Minigun and Scarlett can make it, cause I really only wanna watch the Americans in WCS America. Europe could be pretty exciting, with many more foreigners ;P.

It really all depends on my sleep schedule I guess haha, this really makes it tough and I might just end up trying to stay up to watch as much as possible ;P

Put me on the list of people who wouldn't know what TI3 was if TL hadn't begun supporting Dota 2. No hate, there's just way too much Starcraft happening all the time for me to fool around with other esports titles.

Do you guys really need 20 hours of SCII? Or could you spend 16 and give 4 to DoTA2? That's all I ask, I am sure you could skip like TheSTC vs. Alive and bear it.

I really encourage you to try DoTA2 out during a Na'Vi game or Orange, you may be pleasantly surprised how much you like it, to me its really refreshing with all of the faceoffs, the laning, tests of wit brought upon by setting up ganks, the gold race, unpredictable team fights with elegant plays that happen in a split second. Its more fan friendly because cheering usually won't screw up someones strategy, in SCII cheering loudly can be seen as bad for the game. Overall I expect The International 3 to be more viewer friendly, with as good or better casting, less downtime and Seattle is the best location and should have great fans.

I am not being paid by Valve lol... this infomercial just comes from my heart.

Basically there is no real competition. SC2 has become like a big GSL. I loved the GSL as much as the next guy but when you have koreans in WCS NORTH AMERICA it kinda defeats the damn purpose. I wished WCS was a window to see better players from around the world but instead it just became a bigger GSL. At least in Dota non-asian teams are as good and sometimes better than their counterparts and we get to see some surprising teams come in the scene much like Teamliquid did. In SC2 even the "foreign" teams are now hiring koreans (why not ? is all about the money) so instead of making Incontrol a contender just hire Jaedong, double yawn. To me SC2 is like watching basketball at the olympics, sure the US team is awesome and does some sick plays but you are certain they will win all their games, the rest of the world is not even close.

Keep in mind, you can watch The International from the Dota 2 client, in-game, completely free. Unlike SC2, it allows you to get inside games at any time, to listen to the casters (inside the client, yes), and has menus to all kinds of stats and charts as the game is still in progress. That in itself is experience worth having, brings esports on a new level of entertainment.

Well exclusively since I will be trying to get a wristband for WCS NA Finals, so I guess I will see it in person. Shame since I really want to watch TI3 but going to Redbull HQ doesn't come around too often. It sucks and I kinda hope that Redbull puts on the International on a screen somewhere to those of us who chose to go down to Santa Monica instead of going to a barcraft for TI3.

The poll speaks for itself. Dunno why SC2 fans are all riled up about the clash with TI3 when a majority of their fans are staying true and watching WCS. Having them watch all 3 qualifiers on the other hand... Not a bright idea.

Never played nor watched (except some Youtube videos) the games being streamed on The International (although the only thing I really know is that SC2 is not one of them).
Never really heard of The International before.

I can watch WCS live in Cologne.

So, that's it then : )

Depends on who is playing on what for me. Like If i see one one my favorite dota teams is playing I will watch that. If I see some of my favorite SC players playing I will watch that. But I'll likely just end up bored of both eventually and have to go play some dota 2 or sc 2.

Both, but mostly WCS. I enjoy dota, but I only played like 30 hours of it. Didn't even play 50% of the heroes yet, so it's gonna be weird watching it.

That weekend will be Starcraft 2 fiest for me, but I won't deny watching TI3.

Well since I don't play Dota nor do I play Moba games at all, I'm going with WCS.

The poll should have said "WCS Regionals" not "WCS Finals", a lot of important people already made the mistake to confuse the regional finals with the season finals at gamescom, I bet a lot of them do here too.

It's a comparison between a partial event of a partial event (regionals -> season 2 finals -> yearly world finals) with total prize money $1.6 mil. across the whole year; and the actual world grand finals of the year with $2.6+ mil. (and counting) being given right there in these five days.

Only TI3. I was going to say mostly TI3 and watch WCS during down times, but I know I would just get lazy and simply keep it on the TI3 stream. I love watching both games, but TI3 is just way too hype right now to miss any of it.

People are really overhyping the effect of this I think. WCS will not take place during the 2 final days of The International 2013, where most people are bound to be watching anyway. You can watch both finals if you want to, this will have no effect on the spectator count for the TI3 finals I dont think.

Mostly TI3 because it's the big one and a lot of teams are performing well, so it should be to a certain extent very unpredictable. Nothing quite like the TI3 production either.

TI3 this year... goddamn. I didn't get into dota until right after TI2 last year and I don't know how TI2 looked going into it, but TI3 this year... with the west tearing up the eastern offline events in past weeks... I am looking forward to the competition, shall we say.

I didn't realize there was also WCS going on that weekend. I will watch the OSL finals, of course... and then I will see if there anything worth watching for WCS America, but my priority will be TI3.

I bought SC1 the day it came out, played BW religiously, played 3 seasons of SCII, didn't buy HotS.

SC2 beta looked really cool, there was a lot of new units with lots of different spells, then by the time it got released they got rid of half of them. To me it became somewhat boring with no real opportunity for variation. Every game was almost exactly the same, TvP build this, ZvT build that...One of my biggest wishes during the end of brood war was that SC2 would introduce more units or maybe even a 4th race, but they didn't. It's the same game with the same amount of units/spells(maybe even less then BW) and really lacks in ingenuity. Now I understand that with each expansion new units will be introduced but only maybe 1-2 per race. I understand the balance nightmare new units cause but come on it took so many years for BW to become what it was. I think it's more fun to watch pros trying new things to figure out the best combinations and counters rather than have a stale meta game. IMHO they need to DOUBLE the amount of units/spells! Then maybe the game would become interesting again, but the way it is right now SC is dead to me, and I'm not happy about it

DOTA2 (I didn't play DOTA1) Brings a lot of fresh ideas and game play. Over 80+ heroes(and counting) and 100+ items. I have played almost 2000 hours and still haven't mastered all the heroes. It gets me excited to play video games again, something that was seriously lacking with SC2.

TI3 Exclusively.

5 Days away, GET FUCKING HYPED!

P.S. - DOTA2 is Free 2 Play (not Pay 2 Win) all you LoL and SC elitists need to get of your high horses and give it a try. You might just love it like I do.

Unless someone I really like is playing on the WCS stream, going to be watching exclusively TI3. Got into dota some months ago and watching the biggest tourney of the year is gonna be sweet.

Good amount of hypes, lots of backstory with the teams and the games should be pretttty interesting.

Where is the option for neither? I am on holiday is sri lanka on those dates. However, if I werent on holiday, it would be pretty much exclusively TI3 but briefly keeping up to date with WCS in any down time.

I can't really watch sc2 for more than a couple of minutes these days, I find it too boring.

Lol. That would be pretty funny but I don't think that'll happen. xD Also I am not sure how many SC2 players are that into DOTA. I like DOTA a fair bit, but I'll be either watching WCS entirely, or playing SC2 myself. Haha.

Exclusively WCS. Dota2, much like League of legends and heroes of newerth, is a game that doesn't really translate well to audiences. I don't mind the occasional inside jargon, but games like this use exclusively inside jargon, otherwise there's no other way to get the neccessary information across.

I've watched A LOT of SC2 for 2 years prior to HotS. Don't know why but at that point my interest in watching the games started to drop to the point that I haven't seen a single DH Stockholm game this year even though I attended the event last year.

At the same time (and a bit earlier, from TI2), I tried watching Dota2 and was pleasantly surprised with how the game was now watchable as opposed to Dota1 which was fun to play but almost pointless to watch. Something has changed either in my head or in the way Valve designed the spectating features that it's now a lot of fun to watch it too. It sparked my interest to the point that I started contributing to Dota 2 Liquipedia and I'm even considering trying to organize a tournament of my own even though that's going to be extremely difficult considering I'm just a fan, a regular guy with no connections with the industry.

Anyway, lets hope for a great TI3!

TI3 - most important dota2 tournament by far - or just another something something random SC2 korean league. Dota2 it is!

I've never watched more than 20 continuous seconds of dota 2, so yeah, WCS finals exclusively....

Agreed. I started watching esports with sc2, but the more i watched it the less desire i got to watch it. Good thing dota 2 works pretty much the other way round for me.
Besides TI2 was the best esport-event i have seen, even better than the first gsl (which was awesome nevertheless, fruitdealer vs hopetorture with fast thirds, gold expos and nydus worms was really entertaining). I am freaking hyped for TI3.

you think so? There are a lot more sc2-viewer than dota 2 viewer (at least atm) as dota 2 is still relatively new and very complex.

I think the fact that TL is still predominantly a SC2 site has a larger impact.

Even though Dota is a fun game to play and I'm sure Valve will make it a great show, unfortunately Dota is absolutely horrible game to watch. So WCS exclusively it shall be!

On TL perhaps, but TI2 got close to 300k concurrent outside of china iirc if you include in game client, in terms of raw numbers I can't imagine WCS coming close.

I don't care for watching DotA, so I'll be watching WCS exclusively.

There was a big uproar about the date conflict, but there really isn't that big of an overlap, both in viewer base and actually time where the events overlap. That's not to say it's ideal, but I think it has been blown out of proportion.

Exclusively WCS Finals. While I find DOTA2 fun to play, I find watching DOTA/HON/LOL utterly boring to watch. To me nothing really happens in a MOBA match compared to a game of SC2.

Though I really hope Blizzard will copy a lot of things from the DOTA2 client for SC2:LotV.
Only thing I know is that I know nothing.

I love playing Dota, but watching? It's just not a spectator game in my opinion, which is what makes SC2 so great.

TI3, no question. I'll try and catch the WCS KR finals depending on how they slot in with the TI3 scheduling. Couldn't care less about WSC NA or EU though.

I find the lack of Dota support and completely misinformed opinions of Dota in a lot of these comments kind of interesting. Not respecting the skill and team coordination required for competitive Dota is just being ignorant and I would've expected more from SC2 fans. I've supported SC2 since the beta but now it's just become stale to watch. I can't see myself ever getting bored of Dota because of the meta shifts, how teams can have vastly different play styles from one another, and the fact there's so many different heroes to choose from. TI3 has been amazing so far and it's not going to be any different for the playoffs.

It isn't that people are misinformed about Dota 2 or even ignorant. People that have gone through BW to Sc2 have dabbled in ARTS (AoS in BW or original Dota in Wc3) the fact is that they can't respect the game from a mechanical standpoint.
Many BW supporters can't respect Sc2 because of this reason, it is natural to have Sc2 supporters hate on ARTS for the same reason.
Especially when Dota 2 fans post about how they got "bored" with Sc2 or how Sc2 isn't exciting because Koreans are dominating.

Well you have to understand that most of the people following Dota 2 on TL came here first for BW or SC2. If they are watching Dota 2 now instead, it almost has to be because they are sick of SC2.

I'm not surprised that WCS is at the top, this is a Starcraft site first and foremost after all. But since TI2 last year, I have had almost no interest in playing or watching SC2. I watched and played hundreds of hours of that game, but Dota just holds my interest better nowadays.

Regardless, it was silly of Blizzard to schedule WCS for this weekend. There is enough overlap between the fan bases that nobody wins as a result of them being on the same weekend...both games will lose viewers to the other.

Lol, the anti-Dota2 sentiment is probably from Sc2 fans that are sick of Dota2 fans saying that they are sick of Sc2.
I'm sick of Dota2. Played it, watched it, got sick of it. The only difference is I don't feel the need to mention that on everything that mentions both Sc2 and Dota2.

I think at the very least y'all should tune in to watch Team Liquid, after the run they've been having through the loser's bracket, they are only two Bo3's away from going to the Grand Finals!
