THE RULE IS: If boxer is in a poll, he wins it overwhelmingly, no. matter. what. Seeing these results were shocking.

On the other hand, Boxer and Nada have easily made the round of 32 while proven winners like Tester and Top didn't even qualify... so really, who knows. Between Boxer and Nada right now though, I'd have to pick Nada. His macro is very strong and Boxer's is less strong, and macro is a huge deal in SC2. Boxer's advantage in the micro department doesn't pay off as much in SC2 as it did in BW. In the poll I had to choose Idra because zerg is winning everything lately.

Idra has lost several games in MLG vs T although he said his best MU is ZvT.. Checking the brackets, Idra has a strong chance to qualify for quarter finals, but after that "macro play" will not be awarded. I just dont feel comfortable when watching Idra, because he is just droning, macroing so hard that i get the feeling he walks on a thin rope every game except ZvZ.. But he walks pretty good surely ![]()

So I really think BoxeR/Nada have big chances to reach atleast RO8. Ofcourse IdrA has more experience but you cant understimate Boxer or Nada even in SC2...remember SC2 Showmatch Nada TLO... with 1 week practising or so...

Considering if those brackets are accurate Idra definitely has the potential to reach semis and face the winner of Boxer vs Nada and probably win too unless it's Boxer and he pulls a Boxer move. Boxer going through Nada in quarters though? Not so much. The other semi will be fucking hell to reach though for anyone not named Fruitdealer.

But people are overestimating idra, as he has a harder bracket, and I'm not sure he has his nerves problem really fixed (remember TSL2...). But yeah TL's not what it used to be, that's not shocking anymore :/ Idra winning the poll while people saying Nada plays too standart is pretty funny too. I'd say Nada.

If youve watched the games Idras played compared to the games boxer or nada has played Idra is playing so much more solid right now than either of them. Not to mention that im pretty sure Idra has stomped boxer on the ladder a few times(can someone confirm this?). ladder means nothing when talking about Bo3/Bo5. I've seen one game that Artosis cast and it was far from a stomping Boxer dominated his match just as much as Idra did.

/troll But seriously.. he just has a lot more SC2 experience than boxer and nada, and given the current trends of people trying to do funky early game attacks against him due to his preference for macro play, as long as he is vigilant in scouting, he should thwart the shenanigans and either win outright or move to macro mode on even footing.

And yes, I do know who Nada and Boxer are but I'm not sure if being a former SC1 legend will help you THAT much. It's still a different game. But in a few months or so I can very well imagine seing former BW pros dominating some bigger tournaments.

You don't prove you're the best in the world at a Blizzard RTS (or a "VERY close second") by exclusively beating Westerners. If Idra wants to prove he's that good then he has to do it by taking out the top Koreans, not beating the likes of Huk and Kiwikaki in NA tournaments.

This poll is good evidence that a lot of the TL'ers now never kept up with the BW pro scene. Nada stayed competitive in BW for a whooollle lot longer than Boxer, and Nada's mechanics are FAR superior. My guess is that Nada will make it at least as far as Boxer, and likely farther than Idra as well.

He faces oGsGon, MVP and irOn or maka Idra won't reach the ro8. As much as I want to agree with you, it's really difficult to say that anyone is the best in the world at this point. The game is still so new... and that's part of the reason Idra lost in the last GSL. People won't be done showing us new things for a while... so anyone can beat anyone. That being said, Idra's play is very solid. That's why everyone tries to cheese him. He also has a decently high win percentage on the korean servers (check sc2ranks.com). I believe he will go very far. I think he is every bit as good as fruit dealer ![]()

He has shown very very refined play lately with strong macro and he has grown much better at handling early rushes/cheeses which I think was his weak point. Boxer has shown great play aswell but I feel that it sometimes becomes too cutesy and if it doesn't succeed early he loses, although in an entertaining fashion.

Genius terran, that sums it up. I'm pretty sure this is the only time a foreigner is going to win against a Korean, in something SC2 related. This poll, never forget.

He's impressed me far more than boxer has so far. Didn't play any in BW and just caught up to the sc scene as the sc2 beta came out, so I dunno what wonders boxer can pull out of his hat, but I mean he just lost in blizzcon as well.. I hope he gets better though.. probably still has some catching up to do when it comes to units and counters and such.

What really is in Idra's disadvantage though is that he is a fairly predictable player, at the later stages I think his opponents will be able to abuse this and knock him out with some rush or build that he didn't prepare well enough for.

Idra will lose to some random stupid shit executed by a better player than he faced until now. Although I have to say I'm rather impressed by him, I'm still not convinced he has it to be on the very top.

And has he said, he's probably going to end up having only ZvT to practice on until the final, and I think he's ZvT is stronger that most T's TvZ. Not sure about an eventual ZvZ final though (i'm actually praying for one of thoses guys to be knocked out, this matchup is so boring...).

if idra's zvz is solid, he's going to the finals. i don't know who he's going to face in the semifinals. boxer, nada, and loner have all been playing so well. as of right now, though, I think Idra is better than all of them and as ZvT is his new best matchup, i put the odds in his favor.

On one hand you have the most successful BW player of all time with 700 + official games played with 60 % winrate over the couse of about 10 years on the other hand there is Idra who has no achievements whatsoever in Korea . Not to mention that Nada has also shown impressive games regardless that he has been playing the game seriously for like 1 month ... Surely playing the game a couple of months more on completely different patches won't make you a better RTS player then Nada . The facts are not even comparable . Anyone with common sense will vote Nada over Idra . But since most of the users either don't know who Nada is or don't give a damn and just vote for Idra , because they are a fan of his or just cheer for the foreigners . Then results are irrelevant . Idra could very well be a better player then Boxer since , Boxer's level in BW has droped a lot this last years , while Nada has always been a level above them . Frankly Idra should be winning the poll : "Which one of the three players doesn't belong with the others " instead of this one .

Now, this is just my opinion. But unlike other people, I don't try to act like it is more than my opinion. Sc1 is not sc2. Nada is an amazing gamer and I am sure he will go far. But I wouldn't expect anyone to switch over and instantly be the best.

Just look at MVP and SangHo . Played the game for 2 months and already bashing the SC2 players in GSL like they are some noobs and even thought MVP lost to probably the best zerg right now he put a really respectable fight . Even Boxer is doing decent in his games . Idra dissapointed in GSL 1 vs a mediocre protoss . He lost a ZvZ rather cluelessly right now . While Nada in the short time he has played has looked solid in TvT and TvZ . Idra would probably beat Nada in TvZ , but results speak for themselves and it's pretty difficult to say that Idra is still a better player then Nada .

But seriously, even tho I'm not really sad to see Idra go (never was a fan), I must say that he played his cards well. Had maka beaten Zenio, Idra would've only met another zerg way further in the tournament. Why bother practicing ZvZ when you have a HUGE chance to meet only T/P? There is one thing that has to do with bw though : while idra showed he was the best foreigner, he also showed that he was pretty bad under pressure. Yeah he can win some random tourneys. Still I'm sorry, but I still remember the guy losing a cc to a probe, and I really wonder how can anyone believe he can win a tournament as big as gsl. While in the case of Nada, we all know he's not gonna crumble under pressure or because he is in a* tough spot... like just after being 4-pooled. BTW,* in bw, Light owns at TvZ-, but who believes he is, on the whole, better than, say, Fantasy, or that he is nearly as good as jaedong ?

As much as I, and most of the community, would love to see IdrA (as a foreigner) get further I don't think he'll be able to pull it of. He seems to be capped at his potential, stale, lacks creativity. While others (esp. the legends) have only 'just' started playing SC2 and you can see the potential in those guys. Like in the game vs Zenio, the overseer game, I really had the feeling IdrA is so easy to bring out of balance. Just like artosis mentioned, he plays vs AI a lot and you can tell. Ow I'm sure IdrA will be able to respond if someone does the overseer tactic again but he'll always be a step behind if something 'unexpected' happens. I hope some day a western hero will rise from the ashes to bring down the korean reign in the GSL. I just don't think it will be IdrA. He's a working horse but he lacks the real talent.

This is the SECOND GSL that Idra is missing (not even top8). He has missed several finals (like TSL2, and the match vs F91), against under-rated people. And it's BECAUSE he folds to unorthodox play. I'm not saying he isn't good, I'm not even saying that he lacks talent, I am saying that he's focusing too much on playing "perfectly" and too little on playing his opponents. Someone who plays exactly the same 9 games out of 10 is not hard to beat by top players, no matter how many times he rehearsed said strategy. That being said, I agree that he'd have had way better odds against T or even P, but I don't think he's top4 material.

Idra is too predictable to ever go far in a tournament like GSL imo, when he needs to play BO3 or BO5 against opponents that he doesn't severely outclass he will simply not get that far imo. TLO has exactly the reverse problem I think, way too much goofing around, changing races etc. which just costs him in his mechanics and strategy perfection it seems. Way too many times did I see him do crappy strats for the sake of being original and different. THe real top players have a little bit of both imo, fantastic macro & micro combined with doing the unpredictable. Fruit did a 6 pool when he deemed it neccesary, Idra will probably never do one for it being a ugly way to play. I really think Idra would benefit a lot from one of those gosu coaches or whatever to help create unconventional strats for tournaments and be a bit more stable concentration wise (less easy to put off).

He has said so in the past that he doesn't really have practice partners so he just practices on the ladder. Its hard if your worst match up is zvz and its your match in a tournament but you have nobody to practice with. I bet if Idra had players to practice with like players from ogs or something. If he did I bet he wouldn't have lost like he did against zenio (I mean he used Artosis's strategy in which he didn't really practice with...). + Show Spoiler + Now that IdrA is knocked out I would have to say that... BoxeR is the favorite in my opinion, but NaDa is probably the most realistic choice of the three. Thats who I voted at least.

Again my reasoning behind idra was because of his very solid play i mean his macro is amazing it is just that in the first game zenio screwed with what idra is best at and that really put him off. I agree with the fact that if idra could incorporate some more strange strats he would definately benefit from that. The alternate strats mixed in with his super solid macro would hopefully see him improve alot. Atleast he can still dominate MLG which is always fun to watch I just cant wait for Jaedong to come to sc2 that will be an interesting GSL to watch Edit: I love how Idra is still getting votes even though he has already been eliminated

That's probably why Zenio told Idra to watch his mouth and did a ceremony because of how offensive Idra is on Bnet. Now, obviously, he doesn't nerd rage during GSL. That would be quite sad to see.

Way to call someone out on the grounds of some random psychological theory you came up with. Should think of that before coming of as an ass.

Idra would be considered lucky if he even made it into S class by the end of season 3. Anyways, shouldn't the poll be changed now?

![]() i still havent seen a boxer match, he always seams to play when i am not able to tune in! but i figured nada was the better player since he has had more experience with SC2, and he was so good/consistent in SC:BW.

This was put up quite awhile ago, though, and like someone else just said, no one really expected FoxeR to shoot up.
