For a variety of reasons, which I suppose I will list on the off chance that a tournament host ends up reading this thread. 1) The Casting IEM had Day[9] casting the entire event which is about as ideal as it gets. Also his co-caster for the event was moderately well spoken and had relevant things to say, but also was aware enough to let Day9 set the pace and take the lead casting role, as lets face it...its whats expected. The MLG caster shuffle was ok at first, but eventually the novelty wore of and I personally found myself disinterested in a lot of games HD/Husky casted. Don't get me wrong I think they are good guys and doing an amazing job for the community with their VODs and media, but just overall lack the depth and high level commentary required to cast these major events. ( sorry ) 2) The Games IEM had the stronger lineup and overall just more exciting games. Thats not really something that can be controlled, but its just how it worked out. Also the quality of casting contributes to this in indirect ways. 3) The Event IEM felt very big and exciting. There was great shots of the players, the stage, and the event. MLG focused heavily on the casters, lacked a real stage, and just overall had a "local lan" feel to it. 4) Coverage This is probably the only place MLG came out on top. Great quality free stream with great bandwidth and the option to even upgrade to HD. Very well done by MLG, props. Thats about it. Overall both events were great and very exciting to watch and im thankful for both events.

at the IEM, just 5 rax reaper ,were the finals. and at the MLG, poor slush kicked out early, and were left for a mirror match up. I'd like the IEM a tad better.

Watching the crowd behind the casters, and all the stage shots also made the event feel more exciting. Plus the quake live matches were amazing, and I ended up liking them more than SC2's games.
