MLG even though there we like no zerg, better stories from MLG, better games from IEM in my opinion.

but ofcourse, nada.

MLG had more excitement going on behind the games, but IEM showed more... hard call but I'd say IEM generally ran a bit smoother except for bnet issues which they dont have any control over.

Nobody "forgot" about GSL, it just hasn't really started. There have been no streams or detailed information, so it's probably not fair to put it in the poll until users can actually see the games and quality of coverage. We'll have another poll later during or after GSL.

iem was a lot better in my opinion. streams were better, games were better, casters were better, and it was really enjoyable to watch, especially when they had an interview after EVERY game

even though the times were quite early

I should have been more specific. It had MORE Day9 and less what I would call "filler" casters. Like personally I find HD a bit hard to listen to.

I prefer the IEM Gamescom Cologne because there are no mirror matchups in the semi and final. The games from the start was entertaining and high level. And Day9 get to cast the whole event and not share the spotlight with husky/HD.

MLG seemed smoother. IEM had lots of bits where there were guys up on stage stumbling over their words like they weren't sure what they were supposed to be doing. Not saying MLG didn't have its hiccups, it just seemed like a more professional production.

I really enjoyed MLG and thought it was well done, but the player caliber of IEM edges it out.

I found MLG way more entertaining. Much less drawn out, much more intense games, and we got to see a much wider range of talent.

I voted MLG for some reasons:

1. I loved the casters, and the mixing of the two casting teams, really nice to see Day[9] and HD side by side.

2. I like the fact that it was open because to me that is one the BEST opportunities for unknown players to really shine and make a name for themselves.

3. Compared to the IEM , the MLG organization and setup was much better quality overall, and I wanted to emphasize on the stream's excellent quality: free, visually pleasant to watch and above all, free of lag. I live in France which is really close to Germany but the IEM stream was kind of awful compared to MLG's.

Tough choice. In the end I went with MLG because it had more protoss action. And the fact that Husky made me laugh so damn much during Socke vs Drewbie game 3. Although Dennis from IEM made that event hilarious too.

IEM was better for several reasons. 1 Higher caliber players. 2 More entertaining games. 3 Better quality stream. 4 Better atmosphere and better crowd (You never got the feeling of the even being a big thing in MLG).

And I see several people seeing MLG as more professional and less drawn out etc. I think it was the exact opposite. In MLG they always had problems getting players into games, so there were alot of awkward pauses... the casters never really knew what was going on, and the games they chose to cast always seemed pretty random. Overall IEM was more streamlined, and the coverage with the players was alot more interesting.

Tough choice, I would give the very-oh-so-slight-like-hair-thin win to IEM cause nada graced it.
MBC/Liquid/TSM always.
