I picked MLG because there were a lot of neat stories that came out of it.

IEM for me, but the german host put me off a bit. I liked the live stream from MLG, but IEM seemed to have its shit together a little better.

IEM, was much better than MLG, unfortunately this is probably down to the higher calbre of games throughout the tournament, it was more spread out so more games could be casted and the production just seemed way more professional than MLG. You didn't have loads of random pauses between games where apparently it was impossible to get people into a game and such, just unfortunate battle.net issues which were beyond their control.

In terms of perks, IEM had Take which obviously made the event, it felt much more of a spectacle and an event in comparison to MLG, which just felt like another online tournament with no sense of interaction with players and the crowd. MLG's free stream was better, but IEM's high quality stream was worth their price easily and easily better/on par with the MLG "HD" stream.

I disliked having to have random caster's at MLG, although at IEM it was a choice between high quality stream or Day[9], where I could pick my favorite commentator, at MLG I was forced to endure commentator's I personally don't like so much, and more so with bad observer work, at IEM most of the action was never missed whereas loads of action was missed at MLG, which is always frustrating as a spectator.

MLG was a better over all experience but didn't entertain as much. Reasons for me:

1. Time zones.
2. Games, IEM just had more fun games that I watched. That and watching 2 streams from them increased the chance of a good game by a lot.

Basically I feel IEM lucked out and was better due to that. ^^

IEM, just based on the games overall. (Also TaKe was pretty awesome)
Worst part about MLG was the first day when they showed gold/platinum level players on the stream insteard of matches like NonY vs InControl </3

I picked MLG because they casted so many awesome PvX game, and I happen to like PvP. I just wish they would post the replays somewhere

MLG had a lot more games than IEM but IEM had more popular players than MLG. I voted for IEM, but MLG was very intresting aswell to see some potential up and coming big player names.

IEM - better games, better competition, better commentating (Day9 is a better commentator than HD and Husky combined). Besides that it had more star power.

Games in IEM were sooo much better, helped by better players+bigger prize pool too ofc.

Nothing really to do with the organization of either event.

IEM: Better games, better overall players, better "epic tournament feel ect, HILLARIOUS interview(+1000 TaKe) ect

MLG: Much better detailed, longer running(a + for me), more FUN(Casters doing random shit \m/ ) more Drama and upsets(good players getting KO'ed) ect

they both had their pros and cons i think, but overall i enjoyed IEM more, but that's not to say MLG wasn't a blast to watch

I would say IEM but anything good that happened in it was is overshadowed for me by the interviewer/main host guy, he was just terrible. MLG was just fun to watch, I have heard some stories from the players about hiccups with it but they weren't apparent when watching and I have to go with my own personal view. MLG all the way right now.
The Mothership has been altered to be sleeker and more visually appealing, and has been renamed to the Cougarship. The Cougarship will gravitate toward enemy units that have been in play for 18-21 minutes and bring them back to nearest friendly base.

IEM had much better games, better player and fantastic casting the whole way through
MLG was better in other aspects; better interviews, more shots of the players enviroment, better atmosphere (no pathetic rapper/kids jumping for T-shirts).

For me watching the stream though the better quality games/casting matter the most.

I picked IEM because the matchups in MLG weren't very exciting, I guess MLG can't control that but oh well
