This Thursday, The Emperor, and three of his ACE teammates will take on the first round of the GomTV Classic Season 2 as they make their first appearance in this tournament. This will be the first Starleague Boxer plays in since his first round knockout in May, 2007 from the GomTV MSL. So, after almost a year and a half out of it, we finally get to see Boxer play in an individual league again.
Sadly, this season might be the last season we get to see Boxer in his ACE uniform, as his move from the military is imminent, and perhaps his move from the professional scene as a whole. Hopefully Boxer can repeat his arch-rival Yellow's performance from last season and make it up to the Ro32 with some unique and innovative play.
The Gom tournament is ideal for Boxer's style, as the interesting maps and long time between matches allows for ample practice time of innovative strategies. We can only hope that Boxer will come into this Starleague with a blast, taking out the Jaedong-protege Killer.
All the matches will be broadcast live on Thursday at 1 PM KST on GomTV's homepage, where you can see Oversky, Boxer, Mumyung, and last season's star DaezanG take on the best young players out there! Don't miss Boxer in the Gom Classic, it might sadly be your last chance to see the Emperor play live, and almost certainly will be the last chance you'll get to watch Boxer playing for the team which he has built up from the ground, ACE.

I didn't know the times were thought of in terms of Europe and the US. Clever by Gom, but really nice since it once again shows how they care about the foreign community. I can't wait until the MSL and OSL also realise how big a community we are, and also start getting English commentators and doing stuff for the foreign community. Until then I guess I'll just support Gom as much as I can

I'll try to watch it live anyways. I WANT TO SEE BOXER LIVE - and of course you and Nick. Altough that means I have to get up at 6:00 am which will be a fucking pain in the ass but I'm sure it'll be worth it. I don't have university at the moment anyways. =)

5 AM for me. Hopefully the first 3 games will drag long enough for me to watch the Emperor live as I get up.
I will watch (and post) the VODs anyway, but this is just the kind of moment you HAVE to live and enjoy as it is taking place.
Merely watching the VODs and not hearing the crowd during the presentationor when the presentators build hype etc... does not do credit to events like this.
I had to watch the finals of both last OSL and GSL, and it is not half as good as the live event.

Boxer will never retire, once he leaves air force he will get all the training he needs to stay on top. He is one of the few with the will and motivation to pull through something like this. I think I will have to stay up until early in the morning to watch this live.

Is that time correct? All the other gom matches so far (just like last season) have been at 6 PM KST. Why is this one at 1 PM? (I'm not complaining, this is WAY better for me... midnight instead of 5 AM... just want to make sure this is right)

nono this is his last live match on his team (ACE) after this game he will be going to SKT1 (100% sure) and will be playing there live and more :D

Haha, you guys have misunderstood me. I know Boxer is not officially retiring yet, but I also don't think he'll play that much, if at all, for SKT. I know the transfer is already secure, I'm just scared that he'll move to SKT and become something like Nal_ra or Yellow for KTF.

Every interview I've ever read gives me the impression that he's in the proscene for the long term. Yellow can probably be blamed on poker, which also claimed some other pros.

SKT1 and the pro scene will not let boxer go as long as he is attracting fans. He is the most well known figure in the history of pro gaming as a whole and a great Starcraft Icon, and he is a great promotion for any event. Ongamenet especially has soft spot for him and feel somewhat indepted to Boxer which you can just tell from the golden mouse incident alone.
