I'm grateful for the TSL being day time here. The Intel-Classic starts at 5am here. You win some, you lose some.
TSL starts on Sunday and Monday at 11:30pm for me. I have to go to school the next day so i cant see the whole thing. Korean scheduled games are usually at 8:00am, 12:30pm, or 1:30pm for me. I go to school at 7:00am and get back home around 3:00pm (including transoportation)
I rarely get to watch live T_T
Edit: i have school from Sunday to Thursday T_T...
Hey, at least you guys are luckier than me. I have to watch this in Thailand at 3:30 am and it's Sunday right now! That's like the middle of the night. However, I slept from 3 PM till 1 AM (I woke up for dinner and went back to sleep) to be able to stay awake for this tournament as well as church later in the morning so it's not too bad. But I am so excited right now that I couldn't possible go to sleep. XD It's too bad that most of our parents don't really care about this kind of stuff. If they did they wouldn't mind some of us staying up late to watch this, but luckily I usually sneak out of my room while they're asleep so they don't know I've been up the whole night. heh heh.
Anyway, this will probably be the best morning in my entire life. lol

Now my worry is my ISP. I have a 512Kbps connection with a 8GB download limit. My download limit finished while watching TSL last week. Now my connection has been reduced to 128Kbps till May 25 T_T. Edit:sucks doesnt it?
The stream was working perfectly with 512Kbps. Will it work normally even if its slightly laggy with 128?

I'm afraid it may not be enough. I'd lend you some of my line if i could.
Alright, TSL is on, cheerfuls are playing, all I ask is that the players I want to win do win and that there are very good games, and no technical problems.
whole site's starting to slow down as more people start logging into the stream and the website. wonderful to see the sc community get together outside of korea.

Draco fighting!
it's still a small-ish community, the peak stream count last weekend was ~1700
I think both players weren't playing at their best, probably due to the cushion of the extra rounds. Best of 5 means a lot less pressure on the first game or two.
This is amazing. My first time watching TSL live. You don't even need gomtv or anything and everything runs flawlessly. I'd just like to say the staff is doing an exceptional job covering these matches.

Daco's cocky ass deserved that. If you claim your not going to practice and sweep the money then you better be godly good and own all your opponents, not lose in the round of 16.

Draco didnt lose in the Ro16. He 2-0'd the top foreign Terran player
I have a new found respect for White-Ra after those 3 games. The guy knows he's mechanically a lot weaker than his opponent, but still wins through clever and solid play. GOGO WHITE-RA!
im not surprised at all. remember when white ra was near the top of the ladder and dropped down to the 30s and 40s after playing a few games against koreans? he bounced back up easily, displaying his skill
Let's go White-Ra, show that your age and lower heart rate will come out on top in the tension filled last game. I hear that the Ukrainians are renowned for their low heart reate.

Yea i love Chill and Artosis but it is a bit annoying. Well, if he was THAT Pro he would be stilll in Korea and he wouldnt claim " to not practise at all " -.-

lolol my school didnt offer bus & management so i have no idea how its like but just in case u wanted to know, i did history for EE
Not sure why commentators said Dreiven had the advantage after the 1st attack against Brat on Wuthering Heights. Brat didn't lose his 3rd expo while Dreiven's 3rd is just up. If anything, I think Brat is ahead.

Some of my friends wanted to take history but there were so few of them that they closed the subject in my school. They say that if they had one more person, they wouldve kept the subject. I regret taking ITGS instead of history XD

English EE, if you follow the guidelines really, really close, pretty much guarantees an A.
Business wasn't offered at my school so I did Physics, Chem, Math and English A1 HL and Geography and French A2 for my SL sugjects.
O.O wow 4 HL subjects including math? Very impressive. A friend of mine wanted to take 4 HLs but our IB coordinator refused since it wouldve been too hard XD. My friend stuck to english, chem, and itgs HL and is glad he didnt take the 4th XD

BRAT's gonna sweep. This is impressive play but Dreiven seems kinda off today.
The thing is, english HL is basically the same as SL except for I think an extra world lit (which is easy) and the essays are a bit harder. Chem/Physics just a couple of options and a bit more material to cover and honestly, it's good practise for university. As for math HL; I did mine last year, which means that I could use a graphing calculator. Of course, chem/physics/math also got data booklets so there's not really much studying to do. XD
It helps if the atmosphere in your school is conducive to IB instead of a mainly 'normal' school with a few kids taking IB.
All of todays players are from Eastern Europe... there's gonna be a time when there is a 'foreign foreign' adjective for foreign players who are not from Eastern Europe (and China).

On May 18 2008 07:56 Attolite wrote: Question: what do the commentators Chill and Orpheus mean by "Cheese" play?
Cheese is an unconventional all-in thing. Something like a proxy gateway, or really early DT, or 5pool, or bunker rush. If it fails, they basically lose.
On May 18 2008 08:19 Attolite wrote: Is it just me or were those matches just replays and only the commentary live?
Yup. They tried live commentary in-matches, but that caused too much lag. They would also have to delay the stream 15 minutes, to prevent the players from having a stream open to hear what their opponent is doing.
Korean pro/starleague can do live because they have the players isolated in sound proof booths in front of an audience, where cheating couldn't possibly happen, and over LAN there is no lag.
Brat_OK plays really fucking smart and has amazing mechanics, macro and micro. I was saying in the earliest rounds that his TvP impressed me more than Idra's or Strelok's and boy was I right.
I wish I could see the players' expressions as they play and see cheerfuls and stuff, but man, the professionalism and fluidity of the whole broadcast was amazing!
I also really liked the commentary. Chill and Artosis had me laughing here and there "That is many tanks, yes?" "Bratok with his russian federation army is just rolling him over!"

Thanks for explaining that. Man, today's matches were so good. I hope that Nony wins tomorrow as I have voted for him to win. Does Gosia have much chance to win against him or will we see history repeat itself when Gosia beats Nony just like Dreiven beat Mondragon?
Brat_OKs timing was also perfect. And he have some great luck/sixth sense as he always moved his vultures directly to unprotected spots or high templars on the move. He couldn't do better with a map hack.
That shit can make all terrans proud . Excellent play from brat ok with some nice little sneaky stuff and some good quality, solid play. Surprised I hadn't seen more of him already, guess it's the money that's brought his pwnage side out.

awesome job everyone!!!
As a person who don’t understand Korean i must say that this even beats an osl/msl ;.; this is just so beautiful, thank you guys.
That was a unexpected curveball the Brat vs Dreiven match.
Dreiven didn't play like how he did in WGT PvT matches. He would do slick cheese builds to hurt Terran econ early. I was expecting plays similar to White-Ra. Instead it was Brat that was outplaying Dreivens with drops. Brat didn't play so well in Ro16 against Haypro (zerg) especially late game so it made me think Dreiven would crush.
If Dreiven didn't beat Mondragon, Mondragon would beat Brat 3-0. Oh well, kind of glad at least there will be a TvP semi-final.

Yea, forgot to specify that I'm talking about his TvP
On May 18 2008 08:59 Famehunter wrote: I wonder what his apm is for that 2nd and 3rd game.
The amazing thing is, in his round of 32 series against Nony, in the final deciding game, he had a dropship style on Zodiac and pretty much owned Nony. When I checked the replay on BW chart, his apm was only like 179. He was over 220 in his other games though.
Edit: Actually, he had 220, and 200 in his other games.
Doh! Should've seen it there. Thanks man. I'm kinda tired right now as I had to watch from 3:30 AM to 6:15 AM for the live stream feed on the tournament.
Ahh man i was so frustrated i waited up till 4 am and guess what my isp fucks up and no internet connection. I was hopin Dreiven would do better oh well.

Wow!! This TSL is so full of setbacks! Mondragon, the favorite to win the whole TSL, is defeated by Dreiven and now Dreiven is defeated by Brat!! And what a defeat! And such joy that at least one non-Protoss is making it to the semi-finals and, seeing how Brat fares against Protosses, it is now conceivable that he'll make it to the Finals!
Thank you so much Team Liquid for bringing us this event!
OMG it was like an orca whale playing with a sealion... Poor Dreiven, he is a PvZ master, but Brat is a TvP monster. StarCraft is SO GOOD (thx Blizzard )
